ՀՅԴ Գերագույն մարմնում մայիսի  հյուրընկալվել էին ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Ռիչարդ Միլսը, ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատան քաղաքական և տնտեսական բաժնի ղեկավարի տեղակալ Ռուբեն Հարությունյանը: Նրանք հանդիպել են ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի քաղաքական ներկայացուցիչ Արմեն Ռուստամյանի, ՀՅԴ ԳՄ ներկայացուցիչ Աղվան Վարդանյանի, ՀՅԴ Բյուրոյի անդամ Կիրո Մանոյանի հետ:

Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՅԴ-ից՝ հավելելով. «Հանդիպման ժամանակ ԱՄՆ դեսպանը տեղեկացվեց ՀՅԴ Հայաստանի 20-րդ Գերագույն ժողովի գումարման և Գերագույն ժողովի կողմից նոր ընտրված Գերագույն մարմնի մասին:

«Հանդիպման նախաձեռնությունը մեր կողմից էր, և երբ հանդիպման առաջարկը ներկայացվել է ԱՄՆ դեսպանատուն, ռազմական գործողություններ դեռևս չէին սկսվել ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական շփման գծի երկայնքով: Այնպես որ` այդ ռազմական գործողությունները փոխեցին հանդիպման օրակարգը: Մանրամասն անդրադարձ եղավ ԼՂ-ի հարցին, այս վերջին իրադարձություններին: Մենք հայտնեցինք մեր ակնկալիքները միջազգային համայնքից, Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահող երկրներից, որ անհրաժեշտ է իրերը կոչել իրենց անուններով, անհրաժեշտ է զինադադարի ռեժիմը վերահսկելու մեխանիզմներ հաստատել և այդ ուղղությամբ պետք է քայլեր ձեռնարկել»,- ասաց Կիրո Մանոյանը:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում ակնարկ է եղել նաև ստեղծված իրավիճակում, ՀՅԴ գնահատմամբ, Թուրքիայի բացասական դերակատարությանը և Թուրքիայի մասնակցությամբ հավանական զարգացումներին: Անդրադարձ է եղել ՀՅԴ-ՀՀԿ քաղաքական համագործակցության համաձայնագրին, ՀՅԴ դիրքորոշմանը ընտրական նոր օրենսգրքի և ընտրական համակարգի բարեփոխումների վերաբերյալ և այդ բարեփոխումներին ԱՄՆ աջակցության հնարավորություններին:

ԱՄՆ դեսպան Միլսը հայտնել է, որ ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահների համար ներկայիս առաջնահերթությունը 1994 թվականի զինադադարի 2016 թվականին վերահաստատված ռեժիմի ամրապնդումն է, փոխադարձ վստահության ուղղությամբ քայլերը եւ կողմերին՝ բանակցության սեղան վերադարձնելը։

ՀՀ ընտրական համակարգի բարեփոխումների մասով, դեսպան Միլսը շեշտել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները աջակցել են եւ կաջակցեն երկրում ժողովրդավարությունը ամրապնդելուն, այդ թվում՝ ընտրական այնպիսի համակարգի ձեւավորմանը, որ վստահություն կներշնչի Հայաստանի ժողովրդին։ Դեսպանը շեշտել է, որ այդ ուղղությամբ մեծ անելիքներ ունեն ՀՀ իշխանությունները, ինչպես նաեւ ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական ուժերն ու քաղաքացիական հասարակությունը։

Կողմերը պայմանավորվել են նման հանդիպումները ավելի հաճախակի դարձնել»։
