Սեպտեմբերի 29-ին արտգործնախարար Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանը հանդիպեց Երևան ժամանած Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղարի տեղակալ, ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի կառավարիչ Հելեն Քլարկին:

Ողջունելով հյուրին' նախարար Նալբանդյանն ընդգծեց, որ Հայաստանը բարձր է գնահատում ՄԱԿ-ի հայաստանյան գրասենյակի գործունեությունը և, մասնավորապես, ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի աջակցությունը Հայաստանի զարգացմանը, ամենատարբեր բնագավառների խնդիրների լուծմանն ուղղված օժանդակությունը:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար' տիկին Քլարկն ասաց, որ անցած տարիներին Հայաստանի իշխանությունների հետ արդյունավետ համագործակցությունը հնարավորություն է ընձեռել խոշոր ծրագրեր իրականացնել Հայաստանում, առաջ մղել ՄԱԿ-ի կողմից հռչակված Հազարամյակի նպատակաների իրագործումը։

Հանդիպման ընթացքում մտքեր փոխանակվեցին աշխարհի տարբեր մասերում ՄԱԿ-ի Զարգացման ծրագրի կողմից իրականացվող առաքելության, ինչպես նաև գլոբալ խնդիրների լուծմանն ուղղված գործունեության վերաբերյալ, քննարկեցվին համատեղ իրականացված ծրագրերի արդյունքները, հետագա անելիքներն ու հեռանկարային նախագծերը։

Բանակցությունների ընթացքում անդրադարձ կատարվեց միջազգային օրակարգի կարևոր խնդիրներին և դրանց լուծման գործընթացներում ՄԱԿ-ի դերակատարությանը։ ՄԶԳԾ-ի ղեկավարը բարձր գնահատեց Հայաստանի մասնակցությունը խաղաղապահ գործողություններին։

Զրույցի ընթացքում կարևորվեց ՄԱԿ-ի մասնագիտացված կառույցների հետ Հայաստանի համագործակցությունը և ներգրավվածությունը նրանց աշխատանքներին:

Զրուցակիցները խորը մտահոգություն հայտնեցին Մերձավոր Արևելքում, Սիրիայում և Իրաքում ահաբեկիչների կողմից իրականացվող բռնությունների կապակցությամբ: Այս առումով նախարար Նալբանդյանը ողջունեց անցյալ շաբաթ ՄԱԿ-ի անվտանգության խորհրդում միաձայն ընդունված բանաձևը, որն ուրվագծում է ծայրահեղականների դեմ պայքարի հիմնական ուղղությունները։

Հանդիպումից հետո Էդվարդ Նալբանդյանն ու Հելեն Քլարկը հանդես եկան համատեղ մամլո ասուլիսով։
