Հյուսիսային Կորեան աշխարհի «ամենափակ» երկրներից մեկն է, որի հանրային կյանքի վերաբերյալ ցանկացած նորություն կամ ֆոտոշարք մեծ հետաքրքրություն է առաջացնում աշխարհում:

Ինչպես նշում է The Daily Mail-ը, վերջերս երկրի իշխանությունները թույլ են տվել Հս. Կորեա ժամանած արտասահմանցի լրագրողների խմբին ուսումնասիրել նախքան այս օտարերկրացիների համար փակ համարվող Փհենյանի մետրոն:
