Գիտնականները Զիկա վիրուսի դեմ պայքարի միջոց են գտել

Վոլբախիա մանրէն (լատ. Wolbachia) կարող է Զիկա վիրուսը փոխանցող մոծակներին զրկել այն տարածելու կարողությունից: Բրազիլական գիտնականներն առաջին անգամ այդ հիպոթեզն առաջ են քաշել   2015-ի դեկտեմբերին: Վերջին հետազոտությունը, ինչպես նաեւ մի շարք թեստեր, հաստատել են այդ ենթադրությունը: Հետազոտության վերաբերյալ հոդվածը հրապարակվել է Cell Host & Microbe-ում:

Փորձարկման համար Aedes aegypti մոծակների մի քանի խումբ են նախապատրաստել, որոնք հատուկ լաբորատորիայում էին աճեցվել, նրանց վարակել են Զիկա վիրուսով եւ վոլբախիա մանրէով, իսկ ազատության մեջ որսվածներին` միայն վիրուսով:  Հետո նրանց տեղավորել են նույն տեսակի առողջ մոծակների մոտ` ստուգելու, թե արդյոք նրանք կվարակեն այդ խմբի առանձնյակներին` սննդի մեջ ընկնող թքի միջոցով:  Արդյունքն ակնհայտ է եղել. չի եղել որեւէ մոծակ, որի օրգանիզմում վոլբախիա պարունակվեր եւ որը առողջ միջատի Զիկա վիրուս փոխանցեր:  

Գիտնականները վստահ են, որ բնության մեջ ապրող մոծակների խաչասերումը մանրէով վարակված լաբորատոր առանձնյակների հետ արդյունքում Aedes aegypti-ների նոր, մարդու համար անվնաս սերունդ կտա, որովհետեւ վոլբախիան փոխանցվում է ժառանգական եղանակով: 

Հետազոտության ղեկավար Լուսիանու Մորեյրան հավելել է, որ նույն եղանակով մանրէն ազդում է մոծակների վրա դենգե տենդի դեպքում, նշանակում է` մանրէով վարակված առանձնյակների միջոցով հնարավոր է վերահսկել այդ հիվանդությունների տարածումը:  

Զիկա վիրուսը հատուկ վտանգ է ներկայացնում հղիների համար` նորածնի մոտ միկրոցեֆալիա առաջացնելով: Կարծիք կա  նաեւ, որ այն կարող է մարդու մոտ Հիենա-Բարրեի համախտանիշի զարգացման պատճառ դառնալ, երբ ի հայտ է գալիս մարմնի մասնակի կաթվածահարություն, իսկ վատագույն սցենարի դեպքում` նաեւ շնչառական օրգանների:
