Ռուսաստանը սպառնալիք չի ներկայացնում ՆԱՏՕ-ի դաշնակիցների համար, սակայն դաշինքը պատրաստ է հիբրիդային եւ տեղեկատվական պատերազմի, Լեհական հեռուստատեսությանը տված հարցազրույցում հայտնել է դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Սթոլթենբերգը:  

«Վերջին մի քանի տարվա ընթացքում Ռուսաստանի պահվածքն այն պատճառն է, որի համար ՆԱՏՕ-ն հարմարվում է նոր դրության, նոր իրավիճակի, որի պատճառով ամրացնում ենք մեր կոլեկտիվ պաշտպանությունը  «սառը պատերազմից» ի վեր ամենաուժգին եղանակով… Միաժամանակ մենք հստակ ազդանշան ենք ուղարկում Ռուսաստանին, որ դիմակայություն չենք ցանկանում, նոր «սառը պատերազմ» չենք փնտրում: Մենք ուզում ենք խուսափել սպառազինությունների նոր մրցավազքից եւ մեր ուժերի ներածը կանենք Ռուսաստանի հետ կառուցողական երկխոսություն անցկացնելու համար, որովհետեւ դա լավ է ՆԱՏՕ-ի համար եւ երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում` նաեւ Ռուսաստանի համար», — ասել է Սթոլթենբերգը, հայտնում է «ՌԻԱ Նովոստին»: 

Այնուամենայնիվ, ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը դրական է պատասխանել հաղորդավարի այն հարցին, թե պատրաստ է արդյոք դաշինքը նոր հիբրիդային եւ տեղեկատվական պատերազմի:  «ՆԱՏՕ-ն պատրաստ է բոլոր դաշնակիցներին պաշտպանել ցանկացած սպառնալիքից:  Նոր որոշումներ են մշակվում այսպես կոչված հիբրիդային, ռազմական եւ ոչ ռազմական սպառնալիքների, բացահայտորեն եւ ոչ այնքան իրականացվող գործողությունների, այդ թվում` տեղեկատվական պատերազմի եւ քարոզչության համատեքստում», — ընդգծել է նա:

Միաժամանակ Սթոլթենբերգը նշել է, որ Ռուսաստանն այս պահին ՆԱՏՕ-ի համար որեւէ սպառնալիք չի ներկայացնում: «Միաժամանակ մենք այս պահին չենք տեսնում, թե Ռուսաստանը որեւէ սպառնալիք է հերկայացնում ՆԱՏՕ-ի դաշնակից որեւէ երկրի համար: Մենք աշխարհում ուժեղագույն ռազմական դաշինքն ենք, զսպման եւ պաշտպանության արդյունավետ մեթոդներ ունենք: Բայց ոչ թե նրա համար, որ ուզում ենք պատերազմ մղել. մենք ուզում ենք խուսափել դրանից», — ամփոփել է ՆԱՏՕ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը:
