Ֆիլմը կարող էր մնալ առանց գլխավոր հերոսի, սակայն Մեթյուն համաձայնեց խաղալ ֆիլմում 200 000 դոլլարով: Փոքրիկ գումարով ֆիլմը նրան Օսկար բերեց:
