Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հուլիսի 4-ին ցավակցական հեռագիր է հղել Էլի Վիզելի ընտանիքին՝ մեծ հումանիստ, գիտնական, Նոբելյան մրցանակակիր և Հայաստանի մեծ բարեկամ Էլի Վիզելի վախճանի կապակցությամբ: Հանրապետության Նախագահը ցավակցություն և զորակցություն է հայտնել Էլի Վիզելի ընտանիքին ու մերձավորներին՝ մաղթելով տոկունություն և ոգու արիություն: Այս մասին «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

«Վերապրելով հոլոքոստը՝ նա իր ողջ կյանքն անցկացրեց՝ պայքարելով անարդարության, անհանդուրժողականության և անտարբերության դեմ: Մենք բարձր ենք գնահատում Էլի Վիզելի ներդրումը անցյալում կատարված ցեղասպանությունների մասին բարձրաձայնելու և «Այլևս երբեք» կարգախոսին հավատարիմ՝ նման սարսափելի հանցագործություններից զերծ ապագա կերտելու գործում: Անուրանալի են նրա հետևողական ջանքերը՝ միտված Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչմանը: Հավատացած եմ, որ Էլի Վիզելի արդարության կոչերը կհավերժանան՝ իրենց արձագանքը գտնելով նաև ցեղասպանու թյունների նախատիպ դարձած Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչող և դատապարտող բանաձևերում՝ որպես այդ հանցագործության կանխարգելման նվազագույն անհրաժեշտ միջոց:

Մեզ համար մեծ պատիվ էր նաև, որ Էլի Վիզելը դարձավ «Ավրորա» միջազգային մարդասիրական մրցանակաբաշխության ընտրող հանձնախմբի համանախագահ՝ արժանին հատուցելու համար մերօրյա այն հերոսներին, ովքեր օգնում են մարդկանց անձնվեր բացառիկ ջանքերով: Դա ևս մեկ քայլ էր՝ ուղղված անտարբերության վերացմանը: Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունն այս և այլ նման նախաձեռնություններով շարունակելու է մնալ ցեղասպանության հանցագործության դեմ միջազգային պայքարի առաջամարտիկների շարքում:

Ես հաճախ եմ իմ ելույթներում մեջբերում կատարում նրա իմաստուն խոսքերից: Նրա թողած ժառանգությունը ողջ մարդկության ձեռքբերումն է, որ մենք պետք է փայփայենք, և որով պետք է առաջնորդվենք մեր հետագա գործունեությունն իրականացնելիս: Նա իր կյանքով «ավելի լավի» օրինակ է ծառայել համայն մարդկության համար: Էլի Վիզելի ավանդը համամարդկային է, ինչպես որ համամարդկային է նրա կորուստը:

Մեզ համար հարազատ դարձած այս անունը մեկընդմիշտ կմնա Հայաստանի և հայ ժողովրդի բարեկամների շարքում»,- ասված է Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի ցավակցական հեռագրում:
