 Մեծ Բրիտանիայի աշխատանքի եւ կենսաթոշակների նախարար Սթիվեն Քրեբը հրաժարվել Է երկրի վարչապետի պաշտոնի համար պայքարին մասնակցելուց հօգուտ ՆԳՆ-ի ղեկավար Թերեզա Մեյի, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:

Հուլիսի 5-ին Պահպանողական կուսակցությունից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի խորհրդարանի պատգամավորներն սկսել են թորիների նոր առաջնորդի ընտրությունների գործընթացը, որն Էլ կգլխավորի կառավարությունը: 

Քվեարկությունը տեղի Է ունենում մի քանի փուլով, յուրալանչյուր փուլից հետո դուրս Է մնում ամենաքիչ թվով քվեներ ստացած թեկնածուն: Առաջինը դուրս Է մնացել պաշտպանության նախարար Լիամ Ֆոքսը:

Մրցարշավի ֆավորիտ Է համարվում ներքգործնախարար Թերեզա Մեյը. առաջին փուլում նա հաղթել Է բացահայտ առավելությամբ՝ ստանալով պահպանողական պատգամավորների 330 քվեներից 165-ը:
