Georgia Online-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ ԱՄՆ-ն ու Վրաստանը որոշել են ընդլայնել համագործակցությունը պաշտպանական պոտենցիալի ավելացման, տեղեկատվության փոխանակման և առանցքային այլ ռազմական ոլորտներում՝ վրացական տարածքների ռուսական օկուպացման շարունակման ֆոնին: Այս մասին նշված է պաշտպանության ու անվտանգության հարցերով վրաց-ամերիկյան աշխատանքային խմբի համատեղ հայտարարության մեջ:

Խորհրդաժողովն անցկացվել է դեռևս հուլիսի 20-ին, սակայն փաստաթուղթը հրապարակվել է միայն օգոստոսի 4-ին: Հանդիպման ժամանակ ԱՄՆ-ը Վրաստանին վստահեցրել է, որ աջակցում է եվրաատլանտյան ինստիտուտներին ինտեգրվելու նրա ձգտմանը:
