 ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Ջոն Քերին անհրաժեշտ է համարում Ռուսաստանի հետ բաց դիվանագիտական խողովակի աջակցությունը, որպեսզի Սիրիայի կոնֆլիկտը կարգավորվի: Ինչպես հաղորդում է Արմենպրեսը՝ վկայակոչելով «ՌԻԱ Նովոսոտի»-ին, այս մասին «Ռոյթեր»-ին հայտնել են ամերիկացի պաշտոնյաներ:

Չնայած վարչակազմի մյուս ներկայացուցիչների թերահավատությանը, Քերին ակտիվորեն հանդես է գալիս Սիրիայում «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման դեմ պայքարում Ռուսաստանի հետ համագործակցության օգտին:
