Թուրքիան պետք է կենտրոնանա «Իսլամական պետություն» (ԻՊ) ահաբեկչական կազմակերպության մարտիկների դեմ մարտերի վրա, այլ ոչ թե «Սիրիայի դեմոկրատական ուժեր» (SDF) միջազգային կոալիցիայից քրդերի հետ մարտերի վրա: 

Այս մասին, ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, Պենտագոնում մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ-ի պաշտպանության նախարար Էշթոն Քարտերը:  

«Մենք Թուրքիային կոչ ենք արել կենտրոնանալ ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարի վրա, այլ ոչ թե SDF-ի: Վերջին մի քանի օրերին մենք շատ շփումներ ենք ունեցել թուրքական կողմի հետ», -ասել է Քարտերը:

Քարտերը նաեւ նշել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ը պաշտպանում է Թուրքիայի գործողությունները սիրիական Ջերաբլուսի հյուսիսում եւ մինչեւ իր սահմանը, ինչպես նաեւ Ջերաբլուսից արեւմուտք, բայց չի պաշտպանում թուրքական բանակի գործողությունները այդ շրջանի հարավում: Էշթոն Քարտերն ընդգծել է, որ եկող շաբաթ մտադիր է հանդիպել Թուրքիայի ազգային պաշտպանության նախարար Ֆիքրի Ըշըքի հետ:

ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի խորհրդական Բեն Ռոդսը հայտարարել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման իր թուրք գործընկեր Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ սեպտեմբերի 4-ին Ճապոնիայում «քսանյակի» գագաթաժողովի շրջանակում տեղի ունենալիք հանդիպման ժամանակ քննադատության կենթարկի թուրքական զինված ուժերի` Սիրիայի հարավային շրջաններ շարժումը եւ սիրիական դեմոկրատական ուժերի դեմ ռազմական գործողությունները, որոնց պաշտպանում է Վաշինգթոնը:   

Սպասվում է, որ նախարարների միջեւ բանակցությունների թեմաներից մեկը կհանդիսանա Ջերաբլուսի շրջանում թուրքական զինված ուժերի կողմից 13 գյուղերի հրետակոծությունները, որոնցում պաշտպանվում էին SDF-ի կազմից արաբական եւ քրդական աշխարհազորայինները:ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարի պատրվակով Սիրիայի հյուսիս Թուրքիայի ներխուժելու գլխավոր նպատակը այդ շրջանից քրդերի դուրս մղումն է Եփրատի արեւելյան ափ:

Անկարան երկյուղում է, որ ԻՊ-ի դեմ պայքարում աննախադեպ հաջողությունների հասած քրդական աշխարհազորայինները կարող են ինքնավարություն ստեղծել Եփրատի աջ եւ ձախ մասերում, ինչով նրանք կվերահսկեն թուրք-սիրիական սահմանն ամբողջությամբ: Բացի այդ, Անկարայի կարծիքով, սիրիացի քրդերի հաջողությունները կարող են քաջալերել թուրքաբնակ քրդերին եւս շարունակել ինքնավարության համար 1980-ականներից սկսված պայքարը Թուրքիայում:
