Հնդկաստանում տղամարդը կտրել է կնոջ քիթն ու փախել, քանի որ կնոջ ընտանիքն ի վիճակի չի եղել վճարել օժիտի համար։ Կամլեշ Ռատորի ամուսինը մեղադրվում է կնոջ քիթը կտրելու ու փախուստի դիմելու մեջ։ 

Պատճառն այն է եղել, որ կնոջ ընտանիքը չի կարողացել որպես նվեր օժիտ տրամադրել, դա իրենց ավանդույթների մի մասն է կազմում։ 25-ամյա կինը նշել է, որ իր 27-ամյա ամուսինը իրենից պահանջել է £550-ի չափ օժին այն պահից, ինչ ամուսնացել են։

«Ամուսինս ինձնից պահանջում էր օժիտի գումարը, ես նրան ասում էի, որ հայրս աղքատ է, բայց նա շարունակում էր պահանջել»-ասել է կինը։

Սեպտեմբերի 14-ին կինը ճաշ պատրաստելիս է եղել, երբ ամուսինը եկել ու կրկին գումար է պահանջել։ Հենց այդ ժամանակ էլ եղել է դեպքը։ Զույգը 6 տարեկան երեխա ունի։
