«Այս կյանքում ամեն մարդ ինքն է որոշում իր տեղը»: Համոզված է եղել անվանի դերասան Սոս Սարգսյանն ու որոշել իր տեղը՝ հայկական թատրոն և կինո:  

Սոս Սարգսյանի հիշատակի օրն է. մահացել է 2013 թվականի սեպտեմբերի 26-ին թոքերի բորբոքումից: 

Թատրոնի և կինոյի դերասան, ՀՀ և ԽՍՀՄ ժողովրդական արտիստ Սոս Սարգսյանը հոգեբանական ռեալիզմի դպրոցի նշանավոր ներկայացուցիչներից է հայ բեմում:

Ս. Սարգսյանը ծնվել է 1929 թվականի հոկտեմբերի 24-ին Ստեփանավան քաղաքում։ 1948 թ. տեղափոխվել է Երևան և աշխատել Երևանի պատանի հանդիսատեսի թատրոնում՝ որպես դերասան։ 1954 թ. ավարտել է Երևանի գեղարվեստաթատերական ինստիտուտի դերասանական ֆակուլտետը։ 1954-1991 թթ. եղել է Երևանի Գաբրիել Սունդուկյանի անվան ակադեմիական թատրոնի դերասան։ 1991 թ. հիմնադրել է Համազգային թատրոնը։ 1991 թ. նա թեկնածու է եղել նորանկախ Հայաստանի Հանրապետութեան նախագահութեան համար, Հայ Յեղափոխական Դաշնակցութեան կուսակցութեան՝ թեկնածուն։ 1997-2006 թթ. Երևանի թատրոնի և կինոյի պետական ինստիտուտԻ ռեկտորն է, 2006-ից՝ ինստիտուտի կառավարման խորհրդի նախագահը։ 2009 թ. ընտրվել է ՀՀ Հանրային խորհրդի անդամ։

Սարգսյանը դեռևս ստեղծագործութան վաղ շրջանից, մերժելով պաթոսային, կեցվածքային-հռետորային խաղակերպը, դրսևորել է բնութագրական դերասանին բնորոշ հատկանիշներ Մելքոնի (Ալեքսանդր Շիրվանզադեի «Քաոս»), Ջոն Պրոկտորի (Արթուր Միլլերի «Սալեմի վհուկները»), Տիբալտի (Վիլյամ Շեքսպիրի «Ռոմեո և Ջուլիետ») և այլ դերակատարումներում. վերջինս աչքի էր ընկնում կերպարի լիարժեք բացահայտմամբ: Նրա դերասանական խառնվածքն առավել համոզիչ արտահայտվել է իր նախասիրած՝ տառապող և ուժեղ բնավորությունների անձնավորումներում՝ Զիմզիմով (Գաբրիել Սունդուկյանի «Պեպո»), Դոն Կիխոտ (Միխայիլ Բուլգակովի «Դոն Կիխոտ»), Յագո, Ջոն արքա, Լիր (Վ. Շեքսպիրի «Օթելլո», «Ջոն արքա», «Լիր արքա», նաև վերջինիս ռեժիսորն է), Ադամյան (Ժորա Հարությունյանի «Խաչմերուկ», ՀՀ Պետական մրցանակ՝ 1979 թ.), Մացակ («Հացավան», ըստ Նաիրի Զարյանի), Թաղապետ (Էդուարդո դե Ֆիլիպոյի «Սանիտայի թաղապետը», նաև ռեժիսորն է) և այլն:

Նկարահանվել է քառասունից ավելի գեղարվեստական ֆիլմերում, ինչպիսիք են՝ «Նվագախմբի տղաները»‚ «Եռանկյունի»‚ «Մենք ենք, մեր սարերը», «Նահապետ»‚ «Խաթաբալա», «Ձորի Միրո», «Սոլյարիս», Հայաստանում և ԽՍՀՄ մյուս տարածքում նկարահանված բազմաթիվ այլ ֆիլմերում։ Ռուսաստանցի բեմադրիչների նկարահանված ֆիլմերում առավել հայտնի են իր խաղացած Գիբարյանի (Տարկովսկու «Սոլյարիս»), թափառիկ արտիստի (Վ.Բորտկոյի «Առանց ընտանիքի»), Ֆեոֆան Պրոկոպովիչի (Ա.Պուշկինի «Միխայլո Լոմոնոսով») դերերը։

«Կյանքում ոչ անհետ ու անհետևանք չի անցնում։ Եթե մի օր մի տեղ մի ծառ ես տնկել, տարիներ հետո դու էլ չէ, ինչ-որ մեկը պիտի նստի նրա շվաքին։ Իսկ թե մի օր մի տեղ մի ճյուղ ես կոտրել, աշխարհի երեսից մի բոռ շվաք, մի քիչ սոսափ կպակասի ու կխաթարվի տիեզերքի հավասարակշռությունը։ Կյանքում ոչինչ անհետ ու անհետևանք չի անցնում: Ամեն մարդ աշխարհ է գալիս իր ծառը տնկելու, իր ծառի ճյուղը կտրողի ձեռքը բռնելու, իրենով տիեզերական հավասարկշռությունը պահպանելու։ Ամեն մարդ աշխարհ է գալիս՝ իր հոգու կանչի հետևից գնալու։ Հոգու կանչ ասել է կոչում։ Ո՞րն է քո կոչումը, քո էության ձայնը, որին լսել պիտի սովորես…»,- Սոս Սարգսյանի «Վարագույրից այս կողմ» գրքից:
