ՀՀ Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը հոկտեմբերի 18-ին ընդունել է Համաշխարհային մաքսային կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղար Կունիո Միկուրիային:

Ողջունելով հյուրին՝ Հանրապետության Նախագահը նրա հերթական այցը Հայաստան համարել է մեր երկրի մաքսային ծառայության ոլորտում իրականացվող բարեփոխումներին աջակցելու գործում Համաշխարհային մաքսային կազմակերպության հետևողականության վկայություն:

Սերժ Սարգսյանը բարձր է գնահատել կազմակերպության հետ Հայաստանի համագործակցությունը և հույս հայտնել, որ գլխավոր քարտուղարի այցը նոր խթան կհանդիսանա փոխգործակցության հետագա ամրապնդման ու խորացման համար, ինչպես նաև թույլ կտա գնահատել վերջին տարիներին այս բնագավառում Հայաստանի կողմից իրականացված բարեփոխումների արդյունավետությունը:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության և տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, Նախագահ Սարգսյանը հաջողություն է մաղթել Համաշխարհային մաքսային կազմակերպության գլխավոր քարտուղարի մասնակցությամբ Երևանում անցկացվող «Մեկ պատուհան» սկզբունքի կիրառումը Առևտրի համաշխարհային կազմակերպության Առևտրի դյուրացման համաձայնագրի համատեքստում» խորագրով եվրոպական տարածաշրջանային աշխատաժողովի աշխատանքներին:

Կունիո Միկուրիան աշխատաժողովի անցկացումը Երևանում պայմանավորել է այն հանգամանքով, որ Համաշխարհային մաքսային կազմակերպությունը տարիներ շարունակ Հայաստանում մասնակցել է բարեփոխումների իրականացմանը, և ցանկություն կար Հայաստանը ներկայացնել նաև որպես օրինակելի պետություն հարևան երկրների համար:

Հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են Հայաստանի և Համաշխարհային մաքսային կազմակերպության միջև երկարամյա արդյունավետ փոխգործակցության հետագա զարգացման հնարավորություններին, ՀՀ մաքսային ոլորտում կազմակերպության աջակցությամբ իրականացված բարեփոխումների արդյունքներին, այդ թվում՝ օրենսդրության կատարելագործման, սահմանային անցակետերի արդիականացման, էլեկտրոնային համակարգերի ներդրման, կադրերի վերապատրաստման և մի շարք այլ ուղղություններով կատարված աշխատանքներին:
