 Անգելա Մերկելը չորրորդ անգամ կառաջադրվի Գերմանիայի կանցլերի պաշտոնում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է Արմենպրեսը, հայտնել Է CNN հեռուստաընկերությունը՝ հղում անելով Բունդեսթագի արտաքին գործերի կոմիտեի նախագահ Նորբերտ Ռետգենին՝ Քրիստոնեադեմոկրատական միություն կուսակցության ներկայացուցչին, որը գլխա վորում Է Մերկելը: ԳԴՀ-ի կանցլերը որոշվում Է Բունդեսթագի ընտրությունների արդյունքում, որոնք տեղի են ունենալու 2017 թվականի աշնանը:

Քաղաքական գործչի խոսքով՝ Մերկելը որոշում Է ընդունել վերստին առաջադրել իր թեկնածությունն ընտրություններում, որովհետեւ դա անհրաժեշտ Է համարում աշխարհում Արեւմուտքի դերի ուժեղացման համար: 

«Նա (Մերկելը) կառաջադրվի կանցլերի պաշտոնում,- CNN-ին հայտարարել Է Ռետգենը:- Նա լի Է վճռականությամբ, ցանկանում Է եւ պատրաստ Է իր ավանդը ներդնել միջազգային լիբերալ կարգի ուժեղացման գործում»:

Ռետգենը նաեւ հասկանալ Է տվել, որ Գերմանիայի կանցլերը դրանում ակնկալում Է ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ ընտրված Դոնալդ Թրամփի ապագա վարչակազմի աջակցությունը:

Գերմանիայի նախարարների կաբինետում չեն հաստատել ու չեն հերքել այդ տեղեկատվությունը: «Համապատասխան հարցը հասցեագրեք ՔԴՄ-ի մամուլի ծառայությանը»,- ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտնել են կառավարությունում:   

Անգելա Մերկելը՝ որպես ՔԴՄ/ՔՍՄ-ի առաջնորդ, Բունդեսթագի ընտրությունները շահել Է 2005, 2009 եւ 2013 թվականներին: Խորհրդարանական հաջորդ ընտրությունները նշանակված են 2017 թվականի սեպտեմբերին:
