Ուկրանիայի նախկին նախագահ Վիկտոր Յանուկովիչը հայտարարել է, որ երկրում հեղաշրջումն անխուսափելի էր, իսկ դրա ընթացքը վաղուց պլանավորված է եղել:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Ռիա նովոստի»-ն, Յանուկովիչն այս մասին պատմել է Օլիվեր Սթոունի` «Ուկրաինան կրակի մեջ» ֆիլմում, որի պրե միերան կայացել է նոյեմբերի 21-ին РЕН ТВ հեռուստաալիքով:

«Մենք այսօր էլ չգիտենք, թե մայդանում ով է կրակել մարդկանց վրա: Սա շատ վտանգավոր թեմա է: Այսօր ոչ ոք չի կարող իրեն հանգիստ զգալ»,- ասել է Յանուկովիչը:

Հիշելով 2013թ.` Ուկրաինայի նախկին նախագահը նշել է, որ դա շատ անհանգիստ ժամանակահատված էր երկրի համար: 

«Կիևը հույսն առաջին հերթին դրել էր Արժույթի միջազգային հիմնադրամի վրա, սակայն հիմնադրամն առաջարկեց որոշման անընդունելի տարբերակ: Մասնավորապես, հիմնադրամը խորհուրդ տվեց բնակչության համար բարձրացնել էլեկտրաէներգիայի և գազի սակագները, ինչը նշանակում էր ծախսերի լուրջ ավելացում այն դեպքում, երբ ուկրաինացիների եկամուտները մնալու էին նույնը»,- նշել է Վիկտոր Յանուկովիչը:

Նա հավելել է, որ այդ ժամանակ իրենք չեն գնացել այդ քայլին և առաջարկել են այլ տարբերակներ, որոնք Արժույթի միջազգային հիմնադրամը պաշտոնապես մերժել է 2013թ. նոյեմբերին: «Այդ պարագայում մեր հույսը Ռուսաստանն էր: Ռուսաստանը մեզ ասաց, որ պատրաստ են մեզ հետ աշխատել` որպես գործընկեր, եթե մենք հաշվի առնենք նրանց հետաքրքրությունները: Մենք տեսանք, որ համաձայնագիրը, որը Եվրոպան պատրաստել էր Ուկրաինայի համար պահանջում է տնտեսական մեծ ծախսեր, իսկ Եվրոպան փոխհատուցում չի առաջարկում այն դեպքում, երբ ռուսական շուկան Ուկրաինայի համար կրճատվել էր: Եվրոպայի հետ մեր բանակցությունները հաջողությամբ չէին պսակվում, դրա համար մենք առաջարկեցինք դադար վերցնել»,- պատմել է Վիկտոր Յանուկովիչը:

Նա հավելել է, որ սկզբում ինքը մտածել է, որ  երկրում մեկնարկած ցույցերը խաղաղ բնույթ են կրել, իսկ խաղաղ ցուցարարների հետ կարելի է երկխոսել, ինչին ինքը պատրաստ է եղել: Յանուկովիչը նաև նշել է, երբ խաղաղ ցույցը վերածվել է զինված խռովության, ինքը դեմ է եղել ցուցարարների դեմ ուժ կիրառելուն: Նրա խոսքով` իր ռեակցիան վայրկյանական է եղել և փորձել է պարզել, թե ով է հրաման տվել ցուցարարների դեմ ուժ կիրառել:
