Համատեղության կարգով Լատվիայում ՀՀ դեսպան Տիգրան Մկրտչյանը (նստավայրը՝ ք. Վիլնյուս) նոյեմբերի 29-ին իր հավատարմագրերը հանձնեց Լատվիայի Հանրապետության նախագահ Ռայմոնդս Վեյոնիսին: Այս մասին  տեղեկանում ենք ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի նախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից:

Հավատարմագրերի հանձնման արարողությանը հաջորդած զրույցի ընթացքում քննարկվեցին Հայաստան-Լատվիա հարաբերություններին և դրանց առավել խորացմանն առնչվող հարցեր: Դեսպան Մկրտչյանը ներկայացրեց առաջիկայում նախատեսվող ծրագրերը:

Նախագահ Վեյոնիսը կարևորեց երկկողմ հարաբերություններում տնտեսական բաղադրիչի ակտիվացումը՝ այդ համատեքստում առանձնահատուկ ընդգծելով հայ-լատվիական միջկառավարական հանձնաժողովի ձևաչափի կարևորությունը:

Զրուցակիցները նաև անդրադարձան ՀՀ-ԵՄ նոր շրջանակային համաձայնագրի շուրջ բանակցությունների ընթացքին՝ միաժամանակ հույս հայտնելով, որ այն կստորագրվի մոտ ապագայում:

Լատվիայի նախագահը և Հայաստանի դեսպանը մտքեր փոխանակեցին մի շարք հրատապ տարածաշրջանային և միջազգային խնդիրների շուրջ: Անդրադառնալով ղարաբաղյան հակամարտությանը՝ դեսպան Մկրտչյանը շնորհակալություն հայտնեց Լատվիայի` հիմնահարցի առնչությամբ հավասարակշռված մոտեցման կապակցությամբ, և ընդգծեց ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի եռանախագահության ձևաչափին միջազգային հանրության աջակցության կարևորությունը: Նախագահ Վեյոնիսը վերահաստատեց հակամարտությունը ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության ձևաչափում խաղաղ բանակցությունների միջոցով կարգավորելու Լատվիայի դիրքորոշումը:
