Սիրիական Պալմիրա քաղաքի արվարձաններում վերսկսվել են բախումները սիրիական կառավարական զորքերի և «Իսլամական պետություն» ահաբեկչական խմբավորման գրոհայինների ու ապստամբ ուժերի միջև:

Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է DW.com-ը, երկրի կառավարական բանակն արդեն կորցրել է վերահսկողությունը այդ շրջանում գտնվող նավթահանքի տարածքում: Բացի այդ, մարտեր են ընթանում Հոմսից արևելք ընկած շրջաններում` Պալմիրայից 160 կմ հեռավորությամբ: Այս մասին հայտնել է Լոնդոնում գործող Մարդու իրավունքների սիրիական դիտորդական կենտրոնը, որը տեղեկություններ է ստանում Սիրիայում գտնվող աղբյուրներից:
