Թուրք-սիրիական սահմանի մերձակայքում գտնվող Այն ալ Արաբ քաղաքում «Իսլամական պետությունը» լուրջ կորուստներ է կրել և չի կարողացել վերահսկողություն հաստատել քաղաքի նոր տարածքների վրա: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը՝ վկայակոչելով սիրիական լրատվամիջոցն երը, մի կողմից՝ քրդական ուժերի ամուր դիմադրությունը, մյուս կողմից՝ միջազգային դաշինքի հարվածները ԻՊ-ին հնարավորություն չեն տվել իրականացնել քաղաքը գրավելու իրենց երազանքը: Բախումները հատկապես ընթանում են քաղաքի արևելյան և հարավային մասերում և արդյունաբերական հատվածներում: Միջազգային դաշինքի օդանավերը հարվածել են ԻՊ-ի դիրքերի ուղղությամբ՝ ստիպելով նրանց նահանջել: Տեղեկություններ կան տասնյակ ահաբեկիչների սպանվելու մասին:

Քրդական ուժերի ղեկավար Իբրահիմ Կուրդոն հայտարարել է, որ անհրաժեշտ է շարունակել հարվածները, քանի որ դրանք մեծ վնասներ են հասցրել ԻՊ-ին: Հարվածներն ուղղվել են նաև ահաբեկիչների զինապահեստների ուղղությամբ:

Քրդական ուժերը չունեն ծանր զենքեր՝ պաշտպանվելու և հակահարված տալու համար:

Այն ալ Արաբ քաղաքում ավելի քան 3 շաբաթ քրդական ուժերի և «Իսլամական պետությունը» միջև ընթացող թեժ բախումները դեռ շարունակվում են:

Ավելի վաղ տեղեկություններ էին ստացվել, որ ԻՊ-ը վերահսկողության տակ է հայտնվել քաղաքի 40 տոկոսը: Ավելի քան 180 հազար քրդեր ստիպված փախուստի են դիմել քաղաքից և շրջակա գյուղերից: Քաղաքը կարևոր նշանակություն ունի կազմակերպության համար, քանի որ այն գրավելու դեպքում ԻՊ-ն վերահսկողություն կհաստատի Թուրքիայի սահմանի մերձակայքում Հալեպի մարզի գրաված տարածքներից մինչև Ռակկայի մերձակայքում գտնվող Թել Աբյադ քաղաք: Այն ալ Արաբ քաղաքը գտնվում է Դամասկոսից 532 կմ հեռավորության վրա՝ Թուրքիայի սահմանի մերձակայքում:
