 Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Ֆրանսուա Օլանդը հեռախոսազրույց Է անցկացրել Մեծ Բրիտանիայի վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյի հետ, որի ընթացքում նրանք քննարկել են Brexit-ի թեման: Ինչպես հայտնել Է Ելիսեյան պալատը, խոսակցությունը տեւել Է քառորդ ժամ: 
«Բրիտանիայի վարչապետը մի շարք պարզաբանումներ Է արել նախօրյակին իր ունեցած ելույթների հիմնական դրույթների, մասնավորապես, այն բանի վերաբերյալ, որ իր երկիրը մտադիր Է դուրս գալ ոչ միայն Եվրամիությունից, այլեւ ներքին շուկայի համակարգից եւ մաքսային միությունից»,- ասված Է հայտարարության մեջ: 
 
«Ֆրանսիայի նախագահն ի գիտություն Է ընդունել իրեն տրված պարզաբանումները: Դրա հետ մեկտեղ նա ցանկություն Է հայտնել, որ ԵՄ-ից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու շուրջ բանակցություններն սկսվեն հնարավորինս շուտ այն բանից հետո, երբ մարտին երկիրը պաշտոնապես կհայտարարի իր դուրս գալու մասին»,- նշում Է Ելիսեյան պալատը:
Միացյալ Թագավորության վարչապետ Թերեզա Մեյը նախօրյակին հայտարարել Է, որ Եվրամիությունից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու համաձայնագիրը քվարկության Է դրվելու խորհրդարանի երկու պալատներում: Վարչապետը նշել Է, որ ԵՄ-ից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալը նշանակում Է հսկողության հաստատում եվրոպական երկրներից ներգաղթի նկատմամբ: «Մենք վերահսկելու ենք ԵՄ-ից Մեծ Բրիտանիա ժամանող մարդկանց թվաքանակը: Վերահսկվող ներգաղթը կարող Է օգուտ բերել բիզնեսին»,-ասել Է նա:
 
Ընդսմին, ինչպես նշել Է Մեյը, Brexit-ը չի նշանակում հրաժարում այն արժեքներից, որոնք Լոնդոնը կիսում Է եվրոպական մյուս երկրների հետ: «Մենք դուրս ենք գալիս Եվրամիությունից, բայց մենք չենք լքում Եվրոպան»,-ասել Է նա, ընդգծելով, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան չի հրաժարվում Եվրոպայի հետ ընդհանուր արժեքներից:
Նրա խոսքով՝ ԵՄ-ին անդամակցության դադարեցումից հետո Լոնդոնը կշարունակի կատարել պարտավորությունները եվրոպական գործընկերների հանդեպ: 
Մեյը նաեւ խոստացել Է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիան ԵՄ-ից դուրս գալուց հետո կպահպանի կապերը եվրոպական հատուկ ծառայությունների հետ եւ կշարունակի նրանց հետ կիսել տեղեկատվությունը: 
 
Մեյը նաեւ նշել Է, որ ԵՄ-ից Մեծ Բրիտանիայի դուրս գալու ծրագիրը չի կարող նախատեսել երկրի պահպանումը միասնական եվրոպական շուկայում: «Այն, ինչ ես առաջարկում եմ, չի կարող ենթադրել անդամակցություն միասնական շուկային»,-ասել Է վարչապետը: Նա հավելել Է, որ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի կառավարությունը հաշվի կառնի Շոտլանդիայի եւ Ուելսի կարծիքը Եվրամիությունից թագավորության դուրս գալու գործընթացում: Բրիտանական կաբինետը «կապահովի թագավորության բոլոր մասերի իրավունքները երկրի խորհրդարանում»,-ասել Է Մեյը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
