 ՀՀ կրթության և գիտության նախարարությունը, ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարությունը և Խաչատուր Աբովյանի անվան հայկական պետական մանկավարժական համալսարանը մահազդ են տարածել նկարիչ Զախար Խաչատրյանի մահվան կապակցությամբ: «Արմենպրես»-ը ստորև ներկայացնում է տեքստը.

«Կյանքի 92-րդ տարում իր մահկանացուն կնքեց մեր կերպարվեստի երևելի դեմքերից մեկը՝ Հայաստանի ժողովրդական և Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության վաստակավոր նկարիչ, Խաչատուր Աբովյանի անվան հայկական պետական մանկավարժական համալսարանի պրոֆեսոր Զախար Ավագի Խաչատրյանը: Խաչատրյանը ծնվել է 1924 թվականին Սիսիանի շրջանի Սառնակունք գյուղում: Դեռ չէր հասցրել դպրոցն ավարտել, երբ սկսվեց Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմը: Նա մեկնեց ռազմաճակատ: Պատերազմի ավարտից հետո վերադառնում է հայրենիք և 1946-ին ընդունվում Երևանի Փանոս Թերլեմեզյանի անվան գեղարվեստի ուսումնարան, որն ավ արտել է 1948 թվականին: Շնորհաշատ երիտասարդը արդեն 1950 թվականին Լենինգրադի Իլյա Ռեպինի անվան գեղարվեստի ակադեմիայի ուսանող էր, որն գերազանցությամբ ավարտեց 1956 թվականին: 1959-1962 թթ. աշխատել է ԽՍՀՄ ժողովրդական նկարիչ, ակադեմիկոս Ալեքսանդր Գերասիմովի արվեստանոցում: 1962 թվականին վերադառնալով հայրենիք նա ակտիվ մասնակցություն է ունենում հանրապետության մշակութային-հասարակական կյանքին: Մասնակցում հանրապետական ու համամիութենական ցուցահանդեսների, անհատական ցուցահանդեսներ ունենում Պետերբուրգում, Ժնևում, Մոսկվայում, Երևանում, Էջմիածնում, արժանան ում մրցանակների ու դիպլոմների: Նրա սքանչելի կտավները կատարված պրոֆեսիոնալ բարձր մակարդակով աչքի են ընկնում գաղափարական նպատակաուղղվածությամբ, որոնք արտացոլում են հանրապետության առաջընթաց կյանքը: 1970-1992 թվականներին, այնուհետև 2012-ից մինչ կյանքի վերջը դասավանդել է Խաչատուր Աբովյանի անվան հայկական պետական մանկավարժական համալսարանում, 1981-1994 թթ. ղեկավարել է գծանկարի ամբիոնը՝ իր ողջ գիտելիքներն ու հմտությունները հաղորդելով ապագա մանկավարժների երիտասարդ սերնդին: Նա իր հայրենի՝ Սիսիան քաղաքի պատվավոր քաղաքացի էր, Սանկտ-Պետերբուրգի պատեր ազմի նկարիչ վետերանների խորհրդի նախագան:

Զախար Խաչատրյանը պարգևատրվել է Հայրենական պատերազմի առաջին և երկրորդ աստիճանի և կարմիր աստղ շքանշանով, արժանացել պետական բազմաթիվ պարգևների, միջազգային մրցանակների: Հայրենասերի, իսկական քաղաքացու և մեծաշնորհ արվեստագետի հիշատակը վառ կմնա իր մտերիմների և գործընկերների սրտում»:
