Հունվարի 22-ին՝ ժամը 23:25-ի սահմաններում, ՊԲ արևելյան ուղղությամբ տեղակայված զորամասերից մեկի պահպանության տեղամասում մահացու հրազենային վիրավորում է ստացել պայմանագրային զինծառայող, 1995թ. ծնված Կարեն Մարատի Ուլուբաբյանը:

 Կարեն Ուլուբաբյանը ԼՂՀ Մարտունի քաղաքից էր: Ավարտել է Մարտունու թիվ մեկ միջնակարգ դպրոցը:

 

Պարտադիր ժամկետային զինծառայությունից (2013-2015 թթ) հետո նա մնաց Արցախի Պաշտպանության բանակում և շարունակեց իր հայրենանվեր գործը՝ հայրենիքի պաշտպանությունը: 22-ամյա Կարեն Մարատի Ուլուբաբյանն 2014թ. օգոստոսի 4-ին զինակից ընկերների հետ կանխել էր ղարաբաղա-ադրբեջանական զորքերի շփման գծի հարավարևելյան ուղղությամբ Ադրբեջանի հատուկ ստորաբաժանումների հայկական մարտական հենակետերի ուղղությամբ հերթական դիվերսիոն հարձակումը:

Դիվերսիոն հարձակման մանրամասները հայտնի չեն, միայն հայտնի է, որ Ադրբեջանի հատուկ ստորաբաժանման 3 զինծառայող սպանվել է, ևս 6-ը` վիրավորվել: Ակտիվ մասնակցություն ունեցել է 2016-ի ապրիլյան մարտական գործողություններին: Կարենի հայրն, ով Արցախյան պատերազմում վիրավորվել էր գլխից, մահացել է 2013թ. գլխում առկա բեկորների պատճառով:

Կարենը կրում էր զոհված հորեղբոր՝ Արցախյան ազատամարտում զոհված հերոս Կարեն Ուլուբաբյանի անունը, ում հիշատակին ներկայումս անկյուն կա Մարտունու ՊՇ զորամասերից մեկում, իսկ  Մարտունի քաղաքում փողոց կա հերոսի անվամբ: Կարենի եղբայրն էլ է այժմ ծառայում նույն զորամասում: Կարենն ասում էր՝ «Ամեն զինվոր զոհվելիս մենք էլ ենք հետը մեռնում»: Այսօր դու միացար քո նահատակ ընկերներին, ազգի նվիրյալ զավակ:
