Իսպանիայի Կատալոնիա ռեգիոնի Սաբադել քաղաքը հունվարի 23-ին պաշտոնապես ճանաչել և դատապարտել է Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է Իսպանիայում ՀՀ դեսպանությունը:

Սաբադելի քաղաքապետարանում ներկայացված բոլոր քաղաքական ուժերի ղեկավարները ստորագրել են համատեղ հայտարարաթյուն, համաձայն որի, տեղի ունեցածը բնորոշվում է որպես ցեղասպանություն և հանցագործություն մարդկության դեմ:

Հայտարարության մեջ մասնավորապես ասվում է. «Մարդկության դեմ գործած ցանկացած հանցանք պետք է դատապարտվի, որպեսզի նման բաներ չկրկնվեն աշխարհի ոչ մի անկյունում, որևէ ազգի, ռասայի կամ դավանանքի ներկայացուցիչների հետ: Սաբադելի քաղաքային իշխանությունները պաշտոնապես ճանաչում են Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»:

Փաստաթուղթը հեղինակել է «Ciudadanos» կուսակցությունը՝ բավարարելով Սաբադելի հայ համայնքի համապատասխան հայցը: Կուսակցության խոսնակ Ադրիան Էրնանդեսը նշել է, որ ողջունում են քաղաքային խորհրդում ներկայացված գործընկեր կուսակցությունների աջակցությունն այս հարցում, քանի որ դա թույլ է տալիս Սաբադելին միանալ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունն արդեն իսկ պաշտոնապես ընդունած և դատապարտած այլ իսպանական քաղաքների ցանկին:
