Եմենում հատուկ նշանակության ջոկատի ափհանման գործողության ընթացքում ամերիկացի զինվորական է զոհվել, եւս երեքն էլ վիրավորում ենստացել, հայտնում է BBC–ն՝ վկայակոչելով ամերիկյան ռազմական հրամանատարությունը։

Գործողությունը ուղղված էր «Ալ Կաիդայի» զինյալների դեմ, որոնք թաքնվում են Յակլա օկրուգում՝ Էլ Բեյդա նահանգում։ Զինվորականների հաղորդագրությամբ՝ մարտի ընթացքում, որը 45 րոպե է տեւել, սպանվել է 14 զինյալ, այդ թվում «Ալ կաիդայի» երեք առաջնորդ, որոնցից մեկը Աբդուլրաուֆ Դահաբն էր։

Գործողությանը մասնակցող մեկ ամերիկյան օդանավ կոշտ վայրէջ է կատարել, որի ժամանակ մի քանի մարդ է տուժել։ Գործողությանը մասնակցել են նաեւ «Ապաչ» տեսակի հարվածային մի քանի ուղղաթիռ ու անօդաչու սարքեր։

Ավելի վաղ տեղի աղբյուրները հայտնել էին, որ զոհվել է 41 զինյալ ու 16 խաղաղ բնակիչ։ Տեղի չինովնիկը հայտնել էր, որ ուղղաթիռները հարվածներ էին հասցրել հիվանդանոցին, դպրոցին ու մզկիթին։
