Լիբանանում ՀՀ դեսպան Սամվել Մկրտչյանը փետրվարի 10-ին հանդիպել է Լիբանանի պաշտպանության նախարար Յակուբ Սարաֆի հետ:

Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ ԱԳՆ մամուլի, տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Նախարար Սարաֆը գոհունակություն հայտնեց հայ-լիբանանյան հարաբերությունների վերաբերյալ և վստահեցրեց, որ Լիբանանի գործընկերների շարքում Հայաստանն այն երկիրն է, որի հետ ցանկացած բնագավառում երկկողմ հարաբերությունները զարգացնելու և ընդլայնելու համար առկա է մեծ ներուժ, այդ թվում՝ պաշտպանության բնագավառում:

Դեսպան Մկրտչյանը կարևորեց երկու բարեկամ երկրների բազմաբնույթ համագործակցությունը, որի շրջանակներում ռազմատեխնիկական ոլորտը ևս հեռանկարային է:

Դեսպանը պաշտպանության նախարարի հետ քննարկեց Հայաստանի և Լիբանանի միջև Ռազմական համագործակցության վերաբերյալ համաձայնագրի նախագծի համաձայնեցման ընթացքը: Կարևորվեց կողմերի միջև արդեն իսկ նախաձեռնված ռազմատեխնիկական համագործակցության ծրագրերի շրջանակներում գործնական քայլերի իրականացման անհրաժեշտությունը: Համաձայնություն ձեռք բերվեց այդ ուղղությամբ լրացուցիչ աշխատանքային հանդիպումների անցկացման շուրջ:

Դեսպան Մկրտչյանը և նախարար Սարաֆը մտքեր փոխանակեցին տարածաշրջանային զարգացումների, Լիբանանի ներքին և արտաքին անվտանգության սպառնալիքների և դրանց արդյունավետ դիմակայման գործում զինված ուժերի դերակատարության շուրջ: 
Հանդիպմանը մասնակցում էր Լիբանանի պաշտպանության նախարարի գլխավոր խորհրդական, գեներալ Փանոս Մանջյանը:
