 Վարչապետ Կարեն Կարապետյանը փետրվարի 11-ին ընդունել է Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության տրանսպորտի նախարար, Հայ-ռուսական տնտեսական համագործակցության միջկառավարական հանձնաժողովի ռուսական կողմի համանախագահ Մաքսիմ Սոկոլովին, ով Հայաստան է ժամանել ԵԱՏՄ պետությունների տրանսպորտի բնագավառի լիազոր մարմինների ղեկավարների 6-րդ խորհրդակցությանը մասնակցելու նպատակով: 

Ինչպես տեղեկանում ենք ՀՀ կառավարության տեղեկատվության և հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից, զրուցակիցները քննարկել են հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունների հետագա զարգացմանը և ՀՀ վարչապետի՝ Ռուսաստան կատարած պաշտոնական այցի շրջանակում ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունների կատարման ընթացքին առնչվող հարցեր: Ընդգծվել է, որ այդ ուղղությամբ արդեն իսկ առկա են առաջընթաց քայլեր: 

Բարձր գնահատելով հայ-ռուսական դաշնակցային հարաբերությունների մակարդակը՝ Կարեն Կարապետյանը կրկին նշել է, որ առկա է մեծ ներուժ մի շարք ուղղություններով դրանք խորացնելու համար: Այդ առումով, վարչապետը կարևորել է հայ-ռուսական ներդրումային հիմնադրամի ստեղծումը, որը հնարավորություն կտա ռուսական կապիտալը համատեղ նախագծերի միջոցով ներգրավել հայաստանյան բիզնեսում, նպաստել առևտրաշրջանառության ծավալների ավելացմանը: Կառավարության ղեկավարն ընդգծել է նաև գյուղատնտեսության ոլորտում համագործակցության խորացման անհրաժեշտությունը և գոհունակ ությամբ նշել, որ ռուսական կողմի հետ արդեն իսկ հստակ քայլեր են իրականացվում գյուղտեխնիկայի մատակարարման գործընթացի ուղղությամբ: 
Կարեն Կարապետյանը և Մաքսիմ Սոկոլովն անդրադարձ են կատարել տրանսպորտային ոլորտում համագործակցությանը, ենթակառուցվածքների բարելավմանն ու զարգացմանը, Իրանի հետ սահմանին ազատ տնտեսական գուտու ստեղծման ծրագրին և դրանում ռուսական ընկերությունների ներգրավմանը վերաբերող հարցերի: ՌԴ տրանսպորտի նախարարն ընդգծել է, որ Մեղրիում ստեղծվելիք ազատ տնտեսական գոտին ռուսական բիզնեսի համար կարող է լավ հարթակ հանդիսանալ իրանական շուկայի հետ առևտրատնտեսական կապերի խորացման ուղղությամբ: Սոկոլովի խոսքով՝ այս ծրագիրը փոխշահավետ կարող է լինել բոլոր կողմերի համար: 
Կարեն Կարապետյանը և Մաքսիմ Սոկոլովը պատրաստակամություն են հայտնել շարունակելու արդյունավետ գործակցությունը և նոր թափ հաղորդելու երկկողմ առևտրատնտեսական կապերին:
