Կրեմլում չեն մեկնաբանում ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի՝ ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով օգնական Մայքլ Ֆլինի պաշտոնաթողության պատճառների վերաբերյալ տեղեկատվությունը, նշելով, որ դա Վաշինգտոնի ներքին գործն Է: 
«Մենք ոչ մի կերպ չԷինք ցանկանա դա մեկնաբանել: Դա ամերիկացիների, նախագահ Թրամփի վարչակազմի ներքին գործն Է, դա մեր գործը չԷ»,-լրագրողներին ասել Է ՌԴ նախագահի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը՝ մեկնաբանելով այն հաղորդումները, թե ամերիկացի պաշտոնյայի հրաժարականի պատճառ Է դարձել այն, որ նա Սպիտակ տան վարչակազմին ոչ ամբողջական տեղեկատվություն Է տրամադրել Վաշինգտոնում Ռուսաստանի դեսպան Սերգեյ Կիսլյակի հետ իր հեռախոսազրույցի մասին, որը տեղի Է ունեցել դեռ մինչեւ Դոնալդ Թրամփի երդմնատվության արարողությունը:
Ինչպես արդեն տեղեկացվել Է, Մայքլ Ֆլինը հրաժարական Է տվել ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի՝ ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով օգնականի պաշտոնից: Այս տեղեկատվությունը հաստատել Է Սպիտակ տունը:
 
Նախ նման պնդումով հանդես Էր եկել CNN հեռուստաընկերությունը՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրների: Ֆլինի պաշտոնաթողության մասին հաղորդումը, հեռուստաընկերության տեղեկատվության համաձայն, հետեւել Է այն բանից հետո, երբ «Վաշինգտոն պոստ» թերթը եւ «Ասոշիեյթեդ պրես» գործակալությունը տեղեկատվություն տարածեցին, որ ԱՄՆ-ի արդարադատության նախարարությունը նախազգուշացում Էր արել Սպիտակ տան հասցեին առ այն, որ Ֆլինն իրեն վարկաբեկող դրության մեջ Է դրել Կրեմլի հետ շփումների պատճառով: 
 
Սպիտակ տան մամուլի ծառայությունում նաեւ հայտնել են, որ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահի՝ ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով օգնականի պաշտոնակատար Է նշանակվել պաշտոնաթող գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Քիթ Քելոգը: 
 
Ըստ CNN-ի տեղեկատվության՝ Ֆլինին կարող Է փոխարինել Կենտրոնական հետախուզական վարչության նախկին տնօրեն Դեւիդ Փեթրեուսը: Հեռուստաընկերությունը ճշտել Է, որ մոտ ժամանակներս Փեթրեուսը կայցելի Սպիտակ տուն: 
 
Ավելի վաղ «Վաշինգտոն պոստ»-ը հայտնել Է, որ Ֆլինը դեռ 2016 թվականի դեկտեմբերին ԱՄՆ-ում ՌԴ-ի դեսպան Սերգեյ Կիսլյակի հետ հեռախոսով քննարկել Է հակառուսական պատժամիջոցները: 
 
Հրատարակությունը նշում Է, որ Սպիտակ տանը ոմանք նախագահի ապագա օգնականի եւ ռուս դեսպանի բանակցությունները համարել են աննպատակահարմար եւ ոչ ճիշտ ազդանշան Մոսկվային առ այն, որ պատժամիջոցները կարող են թուլացվել, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
