ԱՄՆ-ի հատուկ ծառայությունների աշխատակիցները երկրի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփին չեն տրամադրում գաղտնի որոշ տեղեկություններ՝ զգուշանալով դրանց հրապարակումից: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է այն հոդվածում, որը փետրվարի 15-ին հրապարակվել Է The Wall Street Journal թերթի Էլեկտրոնային տարբերակում:
 
«Իրադրությանն իրազեկ նախկին եւ գործող պաշտոնատարների տեղեկությունների համաձայն, ԱՄՆ-ի հատուկ ծառայությունների ներկայացուցիչները նախագահ Թրամփից թաքցնում են կարեւոր հետախուզական տվյալներ, նրանք անհանգստացած են այն բանի հնարավորությունից, որ այդ տեղեկությունները հայտնի կդառնան հասարակայնությանը կամ կհափշտակվեն»,-ասված Է նյութում: 
 
Ինչպես նշում Է հրատարակությունը, Թրամփի նկատմամբ հատուկ ծառայությունների անվստահության պատճառներից մեկը դարձել Է այն սկանդալը, որը փետրվարի 13-ին հանգեցրեց Թրամփի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով օգնական Մայքլ Ֆլինի պաշտոնաթողությանը:
 
Ավելի վաղ «Վաշինգտոն պոստ»-ը հայտնել Է, որ Ֆլինը դեռ 2016 թվականի դեկտեմբերին ԱՄՆ-ում ՌԴ-ի դեսպան Սերգեյ Կիսլյակի հետ հեռախոսով քննարկել Է հակառուսական պատժամիջոցները: Հրատարակությունը նշում Է, որ Սպիտակ տանը ոմանք նախագահի ապագա օգնականի եւ ռուս դեսպանի բանակցությունները համարել են աննպատակահարմար եւ ոչ ճիշտ ազդանշան Մոսկվային առ այն, որ պատժամիջոցները կարող են թուլացվել:
 
Ֆլինը հայտարարել Է, որ «սահմանները չի անցել» ՌԴ-ի դեսպան Սերգեյ Կիսլյակի հետ կայացած բանակցությունների ընթացքում՝ պարզաբանելով, որ իրականում խնդրո առարկա են եղել ոչ թե պատժամիջոցները, այլ ԱՄՆ-ից 35 ռուսաստանցի դիվանագետների վտարման փաստը: 
 
Փետրվարի 13-ին ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփն ընդունել Է ազգային անվտանգության խորհրդականի դիմումը պաշտոնից  հրաժարական տալու մասին: Փաստաթղթում նա նշել Է, որ փոխնախագահ Մայք Փենսին եւ Սպիտակ տան մյուս ներկայացուցիչներին լիովին չի իրազեկել Ռուսաստանի դեսպանի հետ իր զրույցների մասին: 
 
Փետրվարի 14-ին Սպիտակ տան ներկայացուցիչ Շոն Սփայսերը ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ պարզաբանել Է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը Ֆլինին խնդրել Է պաշտոնաթող լինել, քանի որ նրա նկատմամբ կորցել Է վստահությունը, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
