ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը խոստացել Է ընդլայնել երկրի միջուկային զինանոցը: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, նա հայտարարել Է Reuters-ին տված հարցազրույցի ժամանակ:
 
ԱՄՆ-ի ղեկավարի խոսքով՝ Միացյալ Նահանգները հետ Է մնացել այս հարցում, եւ ինքը մտադիր Է հասնել այն բանին, որ ԱՄՆ-ը հայտնվի «գագաթնակետին»: 
 
Ինչպես հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին, Սպիտակ տան ներկայացուցիչ Շոն Սփայսերը փետրվարի 23-ին զանգվածային լրատվամիջոցների համար անցկացված կանոնավոր ճեպազրույցում հայտարարել Է, որ «ԱՄՆ-ը մտադիր չԷ միջուկային ոլորտում իր գերազանցությունը զիջել որեւիցե մեկին»: 
 
Նոր հարցազրույցում Թրամփը նաեւ «միակողմանի» Է համարել ռազմավարական միջուկային սպառազինությունների կրճատման եւ սահմանափակման պայմանագիրը (Ռազմավարական հարձակողական սպառազինություններ – 3 (ՌՀՍ-3) Ռուսաստանի հետ: «Մենք (Սպիտակ տան նոր վարչակազմը ) կսկսենք կնքել լավ գործարքներ»,- խոստացել Է նա: ՌՀՍ-3-ը 2010 թվականի ապրիլի 8-ին Պրահայում ստորագրել են Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահները, եւ այն ուժի մեջ Է մտել 2011 թվականի փետրվարի 5-ին Պետդումայի եւ Կոնգրեսի կողմից վավերացվելուց հետո: Այն նախատեսում Է ծավալված ռազմավարական կրիչների կրճատում յուրաքանչյուր կողմից մինչեւ 700 միավոր եւ դրանց վրա մինչեւ 1550 միջուկային մարտալիցք:
