Սեւանա լճի սառցակալումը լճի թռչնաշխարհի համար ստեղծել է աղետալի իրավիճակ՝  հանգեցնելով  չչվող առանձին  թռչնատեսակների մեծաքանակ  անկումներին: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրեց «Գեղարքունիքի մարզի թռչունների պահպանության միության» խնամակալ, «Սեւան Ազգային պարկ»-ի պահպանության բաժնի տեսուչ Արտակ Սարգսյանը, Սեւանի սառցակալումը ոչ միայն հետաձգել է բազմաթիվ թռչնատեսակների չուն դեպի Գեղարքունիքի մարզ, այլ նաեւ ստիպել է տեղում մնացող տեսակներին՝ հեռանալու ապահով վայրեր: Իսկ այն թռչունները, ովքեր չեն կարողացել ժամանակին հեռանալ, պարզապես ոչնչացել են մեծաքանակ  խմբերով՝ չդիմանալով կերի պակասին ու դաժան պայմաններին:«Այս օրերին բաց են մնացել միայն Սեւանա լիճ թափվող գետաբերանները, որտեղ նկատվում են ջրլող թռչունների մեծ կուտակումներ: Մեր դիտարկումները չարձանագրեցին տառեխի ոչ մի տեսակ: Շատ փոքր քանակի տեսակ ներ՝ կարմրագլուխ սուզաբադ, կարմրակտուց բադ, կռնչան բադ, ջրցուլ, սղոցակտուց եւ այլ տեսակներ, նշմարվել են գետաբերաններում, որտեղ հոգում են իրենց կարիքները:Առավել անհանգստացնող է սեւ ջրահավերի վիճակը, որոնք հարյուրավորներով սատկել-մնացել են սառույցների վրա, բնադրավայրերում: Թափառող շների կամ շնագայլերի համար այնքան առատ կերի պաշար է առաջացել վայրի թռչունների սատկելու հետեւանքով, որ արդեն իրենց զոհերի վրա դժկամորեն են հարձակվում: Սեւանի թռչնաշխարհը, այս օրերին կուտակվելով գետաբերաններում, հեշտ թիրախ է դարձել նաեւ որսորդների համար»,- ներկայացրեց Արտակ Սարգսյանը: Թռչունների խնամակալի կարծիքով՝ Սեւանի թռչնաշխարհի կենսապայմանների ապահովման առաջին նախապայմանը եղանակների տաքացումն ու սառցե կապանքներից լճի վաղաժամ ազատումն է: Մյուս նախապայմանը մարդկանց կողմից աղետալի վիճակում հայտնված թռչուններին ինչ-որ կերպ օգնելն է, այլ ոչ թե որսի նպատակով ոչնչացնելը:
