Սպիտակ տունը մարտի 9-ին խոստացել է ԱՄՆ վերադարձնել ուղիղ 10 տարի առաջ այդ օրը Իրանում անհետացած ամերիկացի Ռոբերտ Լեւինսոնին, հայտնում է «Ամերիկայի ձայնը»։

«Թրամփի վարչակազմը հավատարիմ է մնում Լեվինսոնին գտնելու եւ նրան տուն վերադարձնելու մտադրությանը։ Մենք ուզում ենք, որ նա վերադառնա ու կգործադրենք բոլոր հնարավոր ջանքերը այդ նպատակին հասնելու համար»,- ասվում է հայտարարության մեջ, որը նաեւ հայտնում է 5 մլն դոլար պարգեւատրության մասին այն տեղեկության դիմաց, որը կօգնի Լեւինսոնին ԱՄՆ վերադարձնել։

ՀԴԲ –ի ու թմրադեղերի դեմ պայքարի դաշնային վարչության նախկին գործակալ Լեւինսոնը անհետացել է Իրանում 2007-ին։

Ըստ ԱՄՆ Պետդեպարտամենտի հրապարակած հայտարարության՝ Իրանը պատրաստակամություն է հայտնել համագործակցել ԱՄՆ-ի հետ ու աջակցել Ռոբերտ Լեւինսոնին գտնելուն։ Պետդեպարտամենտի մամուլի քարտուղար Մարկ Տոները Իրանին կոչ է արել կատարել այդ խոստումը։
