Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության կարգավորումը Վաշինգտոնին եւ Մոսկվային հարաբերությունները բարելավելու եզակի հնարավորություն է տալիս, «Ամերիկայի Ձայն»-ին պատմել է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի նախկին համանախագահ, դեսպան Քերի Քավանոն.

«Միանշանակ, նախագահ Թրամփը կցանկանար բարելավել հարաբերությունները Ռուսաստանի հետ: Հավատացած եմ, որ Լեռնային Ղարաբաղը կարող է դրա հնարավորությունը տալ, թույլ տալով Ռուսաստանին եւ Միացյալ Նահանգներին արդյունավետ աշխատելով միասին, այս հակամարտությունը խաղաղ կարգավորման հասցնել»:

Նախկին դիվանագետի կարծիքով, ով վերջերս այդ խնդրի շուրջ հոդված էր հրապարակել, ի տարբերություն Ուկրաինայի եւ Սիրիայի խնդիրների, Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հարցում Ռուսաստանի եւ Միացյալ Նահանգների նպատակները միմյանց շատ մոտ են. «Իմ հրապարակմամբ ես ցանկացա ազդանշան ուղարկել ԱՄՆ-ի նոր վարչակազմին, մատնացույց անել ահա մի ոլորտ, որտեղ երկու տասնամյակ շարունակվում է ռուս-ամերիկյան լուրջ համագործակցություն»:

Անդրադառնալով քառօրյա պատերազմին` նախկին դիվանագետ, իսկ այժմ` Արտաքին քաղաքականության խորհրդի վերլուծաբան Ուեյն Մերրին ընդգծում է Մոսկվայի կարեւոր դերը պատերազմի դադարեցման մեջ. «Հենց Ռուսաստանի ազդեցությամբ հնարավոր եղավ կանխարգելել այդ բախման ընդլայնումը»:

Վերլուծաբանը համոզված է, որ պատերազմը Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում չի բխում բացարձակապես որեւէ մեկի շահերից. «Ղարաբաղը մի խնդիր է, որտեղ պատերազմը բոլորի պարտությունն է, պատերազմը բոլորի շահերի դեմ է»:

Քարնեգիի հաստատության ավագ վերլուծաբան Փոլ Սթրոնսկին, անդրադառնալով քառօրյա պատերազմին նշում է, որ այն կողմերին ցույց տվեց պատերազմի վտանգն այսօրվա իրականության մեջ.

«Կարծում եմ, Ադրբեջանի եւ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները տեսան, թե ինչ տեղի ունեցավ անցյալ տարի, համոզվեցին, որ դա շատ արյունալի պայքար է լինելու եւ կողմերից եւ ոչ մեկի համար հեշտ չի լինելու»:

Քերի Քավանոն, սակայն, այս առումով լավատես չէ: Նրա կարծիքով, պատերազմի վտանգը Ղարաբաղում մնում է քանի դեռ բացակայում է իրական խաղաղ գործընթացը: Այս պայմաններում, դեսպանը նշում է, որ կողմ է հայկական կողմի նախաձեռնությանը՝ շփման գծում հատուկ սարքավորումների տեղադրման վերաբերյալ. «Նախկինում ես դեմ էի Լեռնային Ղարաբաղն ու Ադրբեջանը բաժանող շփման գծում հատուկ սարքավորումների տեղադրմանը, սակայն այժմ, երբ ավելանում է հրադադարի խախտումների, կրակոցների թիվը, երբ կողմերն անընդհատ միմյանց են մեղադրում, կարծում եմ հասել ենք մի կետի, երբ նման սարքավորումներն արժեքավոր կլինեին»:

Նախկին դիվանագետի խոսքով, նման սարքավորումների առկայությունը թույլ կտա միջազգային միջնորդներին պատկերացնել, թե ով է խախտում հրադադարը եւ ինչպես դրա դեմն առնել:
