Մարտի 24-ին կյանքի 95-րդ տարում մահացել Է Խորհրդային Միության հերոս, ԽՍՀՄ վաստակավոր փորձարկիչ օդաչու ավիացիայի գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Ստեփան Միկոյանը, որը նշանակալի ավանդ Է ներդրել հայրենական ավիացիայի զարգացման գործում: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է Ռուսաստանի «ՄիԳ» ինքնաթիռաշինական կորպորացիայի մամուլի ծառայությունը:
 
«ՄիԳ» կորպորացիայի կոլեկտիվը խորը ցավակցություն Է հայտնում ընտանիքին եւ բոլոր նրանց, ովքեր մոտիկից գիտեին Ստեփան Անաստասովիչին: Կյանքից նրա հեռանալը կորուստ Է հայրենական ողջ ավիացիայի համար: Նա երկար ու արժանավայել կյանք ապրեց: Նրա անունն ընդմիշտ կմնա ավիացիայի պատմության եւ մեր հիշողության մեջ»,-ասված Է մամուլի ծառայության հաղորդագրության մեջ:
 
Ստեփան Միկոյանը ծնվել Է 1922 թվականի հուլիսի 12-ին Թբիլիսիում խորհրդային ականավոր պետական գործիչ եւ Սոցիալիստական աշխատանքի ապագա հերոս Անաստաս Իվանի Միկոյանի ընտանիքում: 1941 թվականին ավարտել Է օդաչուների Կաչինյան ռազմական ավիացիոն դպրոցը, իսկ նույն տարվա դեկտեմբերին մեկնել Է ռազմաճակատ: Հայրենական մեծ պատերազմի տարիներին որպես փորձարկիչ օդաչու մարտնչել Է 11-րդ, 32-րդ գվարդիական եւ 12-րդ գվարդիական ավիացիոն գնդերի կազմում:   
 
1951 թվականին ավարտել Է Ժուկովսկու անվան Ռազմաօդային ինժեներային ակադեմիան եւ թռիչքային-փորձարարական աշխատանքի անցել ռազմաօդային ուժերում: 23 տարվա ընթացքում փորձարկել Է «ՄիԳ» մակնիշի մարտական ինքնաթիռներ: 1975 թվականին ՄիԳ-25 ինքնաթիռի պետական փորձարկումներ անցկացնելու համար արժանացել Է Խորհրդային միության հերոսի կոչման: 
Մամուլի ծառայության տեղեկատվության համաձայն, Միկոյանը թռիչքներ Էր կատարում ընդհուպ մինչեւ 1978 թվականը: Ընդհանուր առմամբ յուրացրել Է 102 տեսակի թռչող ապարատներ, այդ թվում՝ ՄիԳ-23, ՄիԳ-25 եւ ՄիԳ-27: 
Միկոյանը Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության կառավարության մրցանակի դափնեկիր Էր Ռուսաստանի ռազմաօդային ուժերի զարգացման գործում ներդրած զգալի ավանդի համար, պարգեւատրվել Էր Լենինի, Կարմիր դրոշի, Հայրենական պատերազմի առաջին աստիճանի շքանշաններով, Կարմիր աստղի չորս շքանշաններով, մեդալներով, այդ թվում՝ «Մարտական վաստակի համար», հաղորդել Է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:
