Վրաստանի նախագահ Գեորգի Մարգվելաշվիլին վերջին տարիների ընթացքում առաջին անգամ հրապարակորեն հայտարարել Է Վրաստանի շահերը պաշտպանելու գործընթացում ռուսաց լեզվի օգտագործման կարեւորության մասին: Նա ելույթ Է ունեցել «ՆԱՏՕ-Վրաստան» ժողովրդական դիվանագիտության միջազգային համաժողովում, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:  
 
Նրա խոսքով՝ «ռուսաց լեզվի օգտագործումն անհրաժեշտ Է, որպեսզի ճշմարտությունն ասվի մեր քաղաքականության ու կյանքի մասին, դա հատկապես կարեւոր Է Վրաստանի վերաբերյալ իրական եւ ճշմարտացի տեղեկատվություն տարածելու գործընթացում»:  
Մարգվելաշվիլին նշել Է, որ «ռուսաց լեզուն անհրաժեշտ Է նաեւ ակտիվորեն օգտագործել ռուսական քարոզչությանը դիմակայելու համար, որն ուռճանցնում Է երկրում առկա խնդիրները եւ ակտիվորեն աջակցում վրաց հասակության մի մասի մեջ ՆԱՏՕ-ի նկատմամբ թերահավատության հաստատմանը»: Նրա խոսքով՝ «չի կարելի մոռանալ ռուսաց լեզուն, դա հատկապես կարեւոր Է աբխազների եւ օսերի հետ շփվելու համար», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
