Նորք-Մարաշի զինված խմբի գործով ամբաստանյալ Վահան Շիրխանյանի առողջական վիճակը գտնվում է մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի ուշադրության կենտրոնում: 

Ապրիլի 13-ին լրագրողների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ ասաց ՀՀ Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպան Արման Թաթոյանը: «Դատավարության պատասխանին ծանոթ եմ և չեմ ո ւզում դա մեկնաբանել: Ես ևս մեկ հայտարարություն տարածեցի և պահանջեցի, որ Վահան Շիրխանյանը նորից ենթարկվի հետազոտությունների: Դրանից հետո Վահան Շիրխանյանը ենթարկվել է որոշ հետազոտությունների և սկսել է դեղեր ստանալ: Ներկայումս նա գտնվում «Դատապարտյալների հիվանդանոցում», - նշեց Թաթոյանը:

ՄԻՊ-ն առաջարկել է նաև Վահան Շիրխանյանին տեղափոխել քաղաքացիական հիվանդանոց, որից հետո քննարկումներ է ունեցել արդարադատության նախարարության հետ: «Հիմա «Դատապարտյալների հիվանդանոց» քրեակատարողական հիմնարկում պայմանները ավելի բարվոք են, Վահան Շիրխանյանը որոշակի գոհունակություն է հայտնել: Բայց դա մեզ համար բավարար չէ, պետք է ուսումնասիրությունները շարունակենք, որպեսզի հասկանանք, թե ընթացիկ իրավիճակն ինչպիսին է լինելու», - եզրափակեց Թաթոյանը:

Վահան Շիրխանյանին մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել այն բանի համար,որ նա 2015թ. մայիսից անձնապես ծանոթանալով «Ռադիո Մարիամ» մշակութային հիմնադրամի տնօրեն Գյումրու Կաթողիկե եկեղեցու քահանա, Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Ավստրալիայի քաղաքացի` Անտոն Դիկրան Թոթոնջյանի, նույն հիմնադրամի լրագրող Լիլիթ Թորոսյանի և Իսպանիայից ժամանած Արթուր Վարդանյանի հետ, նրանց առաջարկությամբ ստանձնել է մասնակցել վերջինիս կողմից ստեղծված ու ղեկավարած հանցավոր համագործակցությանը` կազմակերպված խմբի կազմում ապօրինի կերպով ձեռք է բերել,պահել, փոխադրել և կրել մեծ քանակությամբ զենք, ռազմամթերք, պայթուցիկ նյութեր, պայթուցիկ սարքեր` նպատակ ունենալով Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում իշխանությունը յուրացնել, այսինքն` զավթել` բռնություն գործադրելու կամ բռնություն գործադրելու սպառնալիքով, ինչը ավարտին չի հասցվել նրա կամքից անկախ հանգամանքներում, քանի որ հանցավոր համագործակցության մեջ ներգրավված անձինք բացահայտվել ու 2015թ. նոյեմբերի 25-ին վնասազերծվել են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության ազգային անվտանգության ծառայության աշխատակիցների կողմից:
