 ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հուսով Է, որ Վաշինգտոնի եւ Փենյանի միջեւ առկա լարվածությունը կլուծվի խաղաղ ճանապարհով: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է  Արմենպրեսը, Սպիտակ տան տերը հայտարարել Է Fox News հեռուստաալիքին տված հարցազրույցում: 
«Չեմ ցանկանում պատմել՝ ինչ եմ ես անում կամ ինչ եմ մտածում: Ես այնպես չեմ գործում, ինչպես նախորդ վարչակազմերը, որոնք չորս շաբաթ առաջ ասում Էին, թե ինչ են իրենք մտադիր ձեռնարկել: Դա այդպես չի արվում»,- ասել Է Թրամփը՝ պատասխանելով այն հարցին, թե ինքը դիտարկում Է արդյոք ԿԺԴՀ-ին հարված հասցնելը: «Մենք կտեսնենք, ինչ կլինի,- հավելել Է նա:- Հուսով եմ, որ ամեն ինչ լավ կավարտվի: Հուսով եմ, որ կլինի խաղաղություն, սակայն այդ ջենթլմենի (նկատի ունի ԿԺԴՀ-ի առաջնորդին) հետ արդեն բավական երկար են խոսում»:
Թրամփը նաեւ նշել Է, որ ԿԺԴՀ-ի ղեկավարությունն անցյալում մի շարք հարցերում կարողացել Է գերազանցության հասնել Վաշինգտոնի նկատմամբ:
ԿԺԴՀ-ն ապրիլի 16-ին անցկացրել Է հեր թական հրթիռային փորձարկումը, որը, ԱՄՆ-ի զինված ուժերի տվյալներով, անհաջողության Է մատնվել. հրթիռը պայթել Է մեկնարկից գրեթե անմիջապես հետո:
Ինչպես ավելի վաղ հայտարարել Է Կորեայի Հանրապետության նախագահի ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար, վարչապետ Հվան Գյո Անը, որը Սեուլում բանակցություններ Է անցկացրել Միացյալ Նահանգների փոխնախագահ Մայք Փենսի հետ, ԱՄՆ-ը եւ Հարավային Կորեան մտադիր են պատժել ԿԺԴՀ-ին հետագա «սադրանքների» դեպքում: «Կորեայի Հանրապետությունը եւ ԱՄՆ-ը հզոր պատժիչ միջոցներ կձեռնարկեն ԿԺԴՀ-ի հետագա սադրանքների դեպքում»,- ասել Է նա:
Վարչապետը նաեւ հայտարարել Է, որ Փենսի հետ պայմանավորվել Է բալիստիկ հրթիռների կալանման THAAD նորագույն համակարգի շուտափույթ տեղակայման եւ գործարկման շուրջ:  «Կորեա-ամերիկյան դաշինքը խաղաղության ու բարգավաճման հենարանն Է Կորեական թերակղզում եւ Հյուսիսարեւելյան Ասիայում»,-ընդգծել Է Հվան Գյո Անը:
Ավելի վաղ Չինաստանի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Վան Ին հայտնել Է, որ Հյուսիսային Կորեայի շուրջ հակամարտությունը կարող Է սկսվել ցանկացած պահի: «Վերջին ժամանակներս վեճերը սաստկացել են: Այն տպավորությունն Է ստեղծվում, որ հակամարտությունը կարող Է ծավալվել ցանկացած պահի: Եթե պատերազմ լինի, տանուլ կտան բոլորը. այդ դեպքում հաղթողներ չեն կարող լինել»,-ասել Է ՉԺՀ-ի դիվանագիտական գերատեսչության ղեկավարը: Նրա խոսքով՝ նա, ով կսկսի հակամարտությունը, պետք Է պատմական պատասխանատվություն ստանձնի եւ պատրաստ լինի համապատասխան գին վճարել, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
