Հուշարձանների և տեսարժան վայրերի պահպանման միջազգային խորհուրդը (ՀՏՎՊՄԽ-ICOMOS) 1982թ. առաջարկել է  ապրիլի 18-ը  հռչակել Հուշարձանների և տեսարժան վայրերի պահպանության միջազգային օր: 1 տարի անց ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ն ընդունել է առաջարկը: Այս օրվան նվիրված՝ Արցախի Հանրապետության «Պատմական միջավայրի պահպանության պետական ծառայություն» ՊՈԱԿ-ը «Մտք ի ուժ» հասարակական կազմակերպության հետ Տիգրանակերտի արգելեցում անցկացրեց ինտելեկտուալ խաղ-մրցույթ՝ հանրապետության բոլոր շրջաններից ու մայրաքաղաքից եկած 15 թիմերի միջև:

Յուրաքանչյուր թիմում հանդես եկավ 6 մասնակից: Մրցույթը կայացավ 3 փուլով՝ յուրաքանչյուրը տարբեր ոլորտներին վերաբերղ 12 հարցով: Հանձնախմբի կազմում էին «Պատմական միջավայրի պահպանության պետական ծառայություն» ՊՈԱԿ-ի աշխատակիցներ և Տիգրանակերտ արգելոցի զբոսավար Վահե Հարությունյանը: 

Մասնակիցներին ողջունեց ու բարի երթ մաղթեց ԱՀ էկոնոմիկայի փոխնախարար  Սերգեյ Շահվերդյանը: Կարևորեց նման միջոցառումները և հնչեցրեց Արցախի դրոշի ստեղծման մասին առաջին հարցը:  Առաջին փուլում ամենաշատ՝ 5 միավոր հավաքեց Քաշաթաղի շրջանի «Քաշաթաղ» թիմը, երկրորդ տեղում էր ԱրՊՀ «Սերեբրում»-ը: Ընդմիջումից հետո սկսվեց երկրորդ փուլը, որի առաջին հարցը վերաբերեց աշխարհագրությանը՝ Աստվածաշնչյան Գիհոն գետին(Արաքսը Հին Կտակարանում կոչվել է Գիհոն կամ Գեհոն): Այն ներկայացրեց ԱրՊՀ դասախոս, աշխարհագրական գիտությունների թեկնածու Յուրի Առաքելյանը: 12 հարցից հետո և «Քաշաթաղ»-ը և «Սերեբրում»-ը հավաքեցին 6-ական միավոր, դարձալ առաջինը «Քաշաթաղ»-ն էր՝ 11-10 հաշվով: Երրորդ փուլում առաջատար թիմերն ունեին հավասար՝15-ական միավոր: Լրացուցիչ խաղում հաղթեց «Սերեբրում»-ը՝ արժանանալով գավաթի, պատվոգրի և գրքերի: Երրորդ տեղն զբաղեցրեց «Արմենոիդ» թիմը:

Նախքան 1-3-րդ մրցանակակիր թիմերին պարգևատրելը՝ «Պատմական միջավայրի պահպանության պետական ծառայություն» ՊՈԱԿ-ի տնօրեն Մարատ Շահրամանյանը նվերներ հանձնեց ամենակրտսեր անդամներ ունեցող «Արարատ» թիմին: Բոլոր մասնակից թիմերն ստացան հավաստագրեր: Միջոցառմանը ներկա էին նաև ԱՀ մշակույթի և երիտասարդության հարցերի փոխնախարար Գայանե Գրիգորյանը, այլ պաշտոնատար անձինք:

Մրցույթն անցկացրեց Սարգիս Ասատրյանը: «Քաշաթաղ» թիմում հանդես եկան Անահիտ Խաչատրյանը՝ Բերձորի Վ. Թեքեյանի անվ. Թիվ 1 միջնակարգ դպրոցի ուսուցչուհի, Հարություն Բերբերյանը՝ շրջվարչակազմի աշխատակազմի ֆինանսատնտեսական վարչության պետ, Զոհրաբ Ըռքոյանը՝ շրջանային «Մերան» թերթի խմբագիր, Արմիկ Սենեքերիմյանը՝ Բերձորի մարզադպրոցի բուժքույր և թիմի ավագ Սուրեն Արզանյանը, ով նաև ցուցաբերեց լավագույն խաղ:

Քաշաթաղցիների այցը Տիգրանակերտ իրականացավ շրջվարչակազմի աջակցությամբ. թիմին ուղեկցեց աշխատակազմի մշակույթի և երիտասարդության հարցերի բաժնի վարիչ Հարութ Ավանեսյանը: Ընդմիջումների ժամանակ եղան մշակութային համարներ. ազգագրական պարերով հանդես եկան մասնակիցները, ներկաները: Օրվա ընթացքում գիտակները նաև շրջեցին արգելոցի տարածքում, այցելեցին թանգարան, ծանոթացան պեղումների արդյունքում հայտնաբերված որոշ հուշարձանների:
