Բարերար Ռուբեն Վարդանյանը հարգանքի տուրք մատուցելուց հետո լրագրողների հետ զրույցում խոսելով 1915 թվականին տեղի ունեցած ոճրագործության մասին՝ ասաց, որ Հայաստանը չքնաղ երկիր դարձնելու համար պետք է գործ անել. «Պետք է հաջողության հասնել եւ դրանով ցույց տալ Հայաստանի հարեւան երկրներին, որ իրենց ուզածը չի ստացվում: Ես վստահ եմ, որ մենք՝ որպես ազգ, կարող ենք լինել հաջողակ եւ այդ հաջողությամբ կարող ենք հաղթել բոլոր դժվարությունները, իսկ հաջողության հասնելու համար պետք է միանա Սփյուռքն ու հայությունը եւ գործ անենք, որպեսզի Հայաստանը դառնա չքնաղ երկիր: Այդ հաջողությամբ եւ զարգացմամբ պետք է ցույց տանք բոլորին՝ մեր հարեւաններին, որ իրենց ուզածը չի ստացվում, որ մենք մեր լուման ենք ներդնում աշխարհի զարգացման մեջ եւ մենք ամեն ինչ անում ենք, որ աշխարհը, հիշելով, թե ինչ է եղել 102 տարի առաջ, հասկանա, որ մենք այն ազգն ենք, որ աշխարհին շատ բան ենք տալիս եւ տալու ենք, որ 3000 տարվա պատմություն ունենք»:
