Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանն ապրիլի 25-ին ընդունել է պաշտոնական այցով Հայաստան ժամանած Հնդկաստանի փոխնախագահ, խորհրդարանի վերին պալատի նախագահ Մոհամմադ Համիդ Անսարիի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը:

Ինչպես տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության եւ տեղեկատվության միջոցների հետ կապերի վարչությունից, հանրապետության Նախագահը ողջունել է հյուրերին Հայաստանում՝ հույս հայտնելով, որ Հնդկաստանի փոխնախագահի պաշտոնական այցը Հայաստան նոր լիցք կհաղորդի հայ-հնդկական դարավոր բարեկամությանը: Անդրադառնալով հայ-հնդկական պատմական առնչություններին՝ Նախագահ Սարգսյանը նկատել է, որ դեռևս 17-19-րդ դարերում Հնդկաստանում կազմավորված հայկական համայնքներն ակտիվ դերակատարություն են ունեցել Հնդկաստանի հասարակական, քաղաքական, տնտեսական ու մշակութային կյանքում, այդ թվում՝ Կալկաթայի, որտեղ ծնվել է Հնդկաստանի փոխնախագահ Մոհամմադ Համիդ Անսարին:
Զրուցակիցները երկուստեք համակարծիք են եղել, որ հազարամյակների պատմություն ունեցող հայ-հնդկական հարաբերություններն ամուր հիմք են միջպետական կապերի ամրապնդման և տարբեր ոլորտներում համագործակցության օրակարգն ընդլայնելու համար: Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը և Հնդկաստանի փոխնախագահ Մոհամմադ Համիդ Անսարին կարևորել են բարձրաստիճան փոխայցելությունները և տարբեր մակարդակներում ակտիվ շփումները, այդ թվում՝ երկու երկրների օրենսդիր մարմինների միջև:
Հնդկաստանի փոխնախագահը հանդիպման ժամանակ Հանրապետության Նախագահին է փոխանցել Հնդկաստանի նախագահ Պրանաբ Մուքերջիի ողերձը, որով նա Նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանին պաշտոնական այցով հրավիրում է Հնդկաստան՝ քննարկելու հայ-հնդկական փոխգործակցության օրակարգն ու հարաբերությունների խորացման հնարավորությունները և հեռանկարը:
Երկկողմ կապերից բացի, հանդիպմանն անդրադարձ է եղել տարածաշրջանի իրավիճակին, առկա մարտահրավերներին, ԼՂ հիմնախնդրի կարգավորման գործընթացին, ինչպես նաև միջազգային արդի խնդիրներին:
