ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը հորդորել Է դադարեցնել լրագրողների դեմ կիրառվող հալածանքները

ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղար Անտոնիու Գուտերիշը հորդորել Է երկրների ղեկավարներին պաշտպանել ազատ ԶԼՄ-ներին եւ վերջ դնել լրագրողների նկատմամբ հալածանքներին, տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը:
 
Մայիսի 3-ին նշվող Մամուլի ազատության համաշխարհային օրվա առթիվ համաշխարհային կազմակերպության վարչական ղեկավարը հիշեցրել Է այն վտանգի մասին, որին լրագրողները ենթարկում են իրենց, որպեսզի «հնարավորություն ընձեռեն ատահայտվելու նրանց, ովքեր զրկված են ձայնից»: 
 
«ԶԼՄ-ների աշխատակիցները ենթարկվում են զրպարտանքի, սեռական բնույթի հարձակումների, ձերբակալությունների, վնասվածքներ են ստանում եւ նույնիսկ զոհվում»,- նշել Է ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարը: «Մեզ հարկավոր Է, որ ղեկավարները պաշտպանեն ազատ ԶԼՄ-ներին, դա կենսականորեն կարեւոր Է լայն տարածում գտած ապատեղեկատվության դեմ պայքարելու համար: Եվ մեզ հարկավոր Է, որ բոլորը պաշտպան կանգնեն ճշմարտությունն իմանալու մեր իրավունքին: Մամուլի ազատության համաշխարհային օրը ես հորդորում են վերջ դնել լրագրողների դեմ կիրառվող բոլոր հալածանքներին, որովհետ եւ ազատ ԶԼՄ-ները նպաստում են խաղաղությանն ու արդարությանը բոլորի համար»,- հայտարարել Է Գուտերիշը:
 
Մամուլի ազատության համաշխարհային օրը 1993 թվականին սահմանվել Է ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր ասամբլեային կողմից ի նշան խոսքի, մամուլի ազատության, անկախության սկզբունքների պահպանման կարեւորության ճանաչման, ինչպես նաեւ որպես հարգանքի տուրք իրենց մասնագիտական պարտքը կատարելիս զոհված լրագրողների հիշատակին, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
