Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի առողջապահական ծառայությունների հետազոտման ու գարգացման կենտրոնի և Կարո Մեղրիկյանի անվան աչքի հիվանդությունների կանխարգելման կենտրոնի համատեղ նախաձեռնությամբ «Հանրապետական բժշկական կենտրոն» ՓԲԸ-ում ՀՀ-ից ժամանած ակնաբույժներն իրականացնում են արցախյան պատերազմում զոհվածների ընտանիքների՝ ակնաբուժական խնդիրներ ունեցող անդամների և հաշմանդամ ազատամարտիկների ա նվճար հետազոտություն ու խորհրդատվություն:

Ակնաբույժ  Սուսաննա Գաբրիելյանն  ասել է, որ իրենք Ստեփանակերտում են՝ իրականացնելու որակավորված ակնաբուժական օգնություն: Ակնաբույժի խոսքով՝ աչքը թաքնված օրգան է, որի միջոցով հայտնաբերվում են շատ հիվանդություններ:

«Մեր այցի նպատակն է օգնել այն մարդկանց, որոնց հայրերը, հարազատները նահատակվել ենԱրցախի պաշտպանության համար: Հերթական մեր այս նախաձեռնությամբ փորձել ենք այդընտանիքների բեռը թեթևացնել՝ ցուցաբերելով բժշկական օգնություն: Մենք այցելելու ենք նաևՍտեփանակերտի տուն-ինտերնատ, որտեղ ևս իրականացնելու ենք տարեցների աչքիզննություն»,- ասել է Ս. Գաբրիելյանը և ավելացրել, որ օրվա ընթացքում հետազոտել են 35-40 այցելուի:

Հայաստանի ամերիկյան համալսարանի ներկայացուցիչ Թերեզա Խաչկալյանն էլ ասել է, որ Արցախ են եկել 5-օրյա այցով և նախատեսել են ընդհանուր շուրջ 250 հետազոտություն անցկացնել: «Հետազոտությունների հիման վրա անվճար ակնոց կտրամադրենք այն մարդկանց, ովքեր դրա կարիքն ունեն: Այս անգամ նաև անվճար դեղորայք ենք բերել, որը բաժանվում է մարդկանց»,- ասել է Թ. Խաչկալյանը:

Բժշկական հետազոտությունները իրականացվում են մայիսի 15-20-ն ընկած ժամանակահատվածում՝ Ստեփանակերտի հանրապետական բժշկական կենտրոնում:
