Այսօր մահացել է լեգենդար Soundgarden խմբի մենակատար Քրիս Քորնելը, ով նաեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին «Խոստումը» ֆիլմի սաունդթրեքի հեղինակն է։

NEWS.am STYLE-ը ներկայացնում է երաժշտի վերջին հարցազրույցներից մեկը (Billboard-ի համար), որտեղ նա պատմում է կինոնկարի շուրջ իր աշխատանքի մասին։

Քրիս Քորնելը միանգամից համաձայնել է գրել կինոնկարի սաունդթրեքը, երբ Էրիկ Էսրայելյանը խնդրել է նրան այդ մասին։ Ցեղասպանության թեման անմիջական կապ ունի Քրիսի հետ։ Նրա կինը հույն է, եւ վերջինի նախնիները եւս տուժել են Հայոց ցեղասպանության տարիներին, քանի որ Առաջին աշխարհամարտի ժամանակ Թուրքիայում են ապրել։

 

«Դա իմ երեխաների ԴՆԹ-ի ազդեցությունն է, որոնք կնոջս միջոցով հասնում են նրա պապիկին ու տատիկին, ովքեր փախստականներ դարձան Առաջին աշխարհամարտի ժամանակ՝ թուրքական կառավարության գործողություններին հետեւանքով։ Ես այդ ֆիլմի հետ կապ էի զգում», - նշել է Քրիսը, ում երգը հնչել է The Promise ժապավենում։

 

Ձեր երգը չի կարողանում անտարբեր թողնել ոչ ոքի։ Դժվար չէ՞ր այն գրելը։

Գլխավորը պատմությունը զգալն էր։ Դա շատ ծանր էր։ If I had nothing to my name/ But photographs of you երգը ծնվեց, երբ ես Հայոց ցեղասպանության մասին փաստագրական ֆիլմ դիտեցի։ Ժապավենում հայերը ցույց էին տալիս իրենց մտերիմների ու հարազատների, սիրեցյալների լուսանկարները, ես չէի հասկանում՝ ինչ է ինձ հետ կատարվում։ Ինձ համար հեշտ չէր, ինձ այնքան հուզեր էին պատել, եւ ես երգ էի գրում՝ առանց գիտակցելու, որ ես գրում եմ։ Առավել եւս, երբ ես ընթերցեցի Թերի Ջորջի սցենարը եւ ամենեւին վստահ չէի, որ կարող եմ ինչ-որ բան գրել այդ թեմայով։ Երբ ես սկսեցի հետաքրքրվել այդ թեմայով, ինձ սկսեցին տանջել մղձավանջները:

Ձեզ չէ՞ր շփոթեցնում այն փաստը, որը Սերժ Թանկյանն օգնում էր ձեզ, սակայն նա ինքը չէր գրում երգը։

Այո, իհարկե (ծիծաղում է)։ Ես սկսեցի հետաքրքրվել Հայոց ցեղասպանության թեմայով, երբ Սերժը հարցազրույց վերցրեց սեփական պապիկից։ Այդ ամենն ինձ շատ հոգեհարազատ դարձավ։ Այնպես որ, երբ Էրիկը խնդրեց զբաղվել դրանով, ես անցա այդ գործին։

Այսօր եւս ցեղասպանություններ են տեղի ունենում։ Ձեր երգը նաեւ դրա՞նց է վերաբերում։

Ես կցանկանայի, որ ֆիլմն ընկալեն ոչ միայն որպես ժապավեն, որը պատմում է, թե ինչ է տեղի ունեցել մեկ դար առաջ, այլ որպես պատկեր, որը կարող է ազդել աշխարհի ներկայիս խնդիրների վրա։ Մարդիկ չպետք է մտածեն միայն այն մասին, թե ինչ է տեղի ունեցել այն ժամանակ, այլ մտածել այն մասին, թե ինչ է կատարվում այժմ։
