Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհուրդը միացել է Հայ դատի ԱՄՆ հանձնախմբին և Ամերիկայի Հայկական համագումարին՝ դատապարտելով մայրաքաղաք Վաշինգտոնում թուրքական անվտանգության աշխատակիցների կողմից ԱՄՆ քաղաքացիների նկատմամբ իրականացված բռնությունը: Այս մասին  հայտնեցին Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհրդից:

«Մայրաքաղաքում Թուրքիայի նախագահ Էրդողանի անվտանգության աշխատակիցների կողմից խաղաղ ցուցարարների դեմ իրականացված հարձակումը, որի հետևանքով մի քանի ցուցարարներ տեղափոխվել են հիվանդանոց, այլևս չի կարող հանդուրժվել, մասնավորապես Միացյալ Նահանգներում, որն ունի ազատ խոսքի և խաղաղ ցուցարարների պաշտպանության իր ավանդույթները: Մենք կողմ են ԱՄՆ-ում և մյուս երկրներում ազատ ու խաղաղ արտահայտման իրավունքին, մարդու իրավունքների ու քաղաքացիների իրավունքների պաշտպանությանը: Նմանօրինակ հարձակումները բացարձակապես անընդունելի են այցելող ցանկացած երկրի ղեկավարի, այդ թվում և Թուրքիայի համար»,- ասվում է խորհրդի հայտարարության մեջ:

Ամերիկայի Հելենական խորհուրդը հորդորել է հույն-ամերիկյան կազմակերպություններին դատապարտել թուրքական ատելության վերջին դրսևորումը և կոչ անել Կոնգրեսին ու նախագահ Թրամփի վարչակազմին դատապարտել ԱՄՆ քաղաքացիների նկատմամբ հարձակումները:
