Կրեմլում սպասում են, որ Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահներ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի ու Դոնալդ Թրամփի հանդիպումը աշխատանքային առումով արդյունավետ կլինի։ «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին հայտարարել է ՌԴ նախագահի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ այդ հանդիպման ընթացքում հավանաբար գլխավորը երկու նախագահների առաջին հանդիպումն ու ծանոթությունն է։ Նա նշել է, որ ՌԴ-ի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահների միջեւ «աշխատանքային երկխոսությունը կենսական անհրաժշետություն է ամբողջ աշխարհի համար»։ Այն կօգնի բարձրացնել «օրեցօր ավելացող հակամարտությունների ու խնդիրների կրիտիկական զանգվածի» որոշումների արդյունավետությունը։

Պեսկովի խոսքով՝ առաջնորդների հանդիպումը լիաֆորմատ կլինի, սակայն ժամանակային առումով՝ սահմանափակ։ «Այդ պատճառով հազիվ թե հնարավորություն ընձեռվի ամբողջությամբ ներկայացնել նախագահ Պուտինի դիրքորոշումը, որը նա, ի դեպ, մի քանի անգամ հնչեցրել է՝ Ուկրաինայում ծագած քաղաքացիական պատերազմի ու իրադրության պատճառների շուրջ»,-հավելել է նա։

Սակայն Պեսկովի համաձայն՝ բանակցությունները լավ հնարավորություն կընձեռեն կրկնելու համար Ռուսաստանի դիրքորոշումը՝ «Մինսկի համաձայնագրերի այլընտրաքայնության եւ Դոնբասում ուկրաինական զորքերի՝ սադրանքը դադարեցնելու անհրաժեշության հետ կապված»։
