23-ամյա Ռիա Քուփերը հայտնի է դարձել Մեծ Բրիտանիայում որպես ամենաերիտասարդ տրանսգենդեր, որը սկսել է սեռափոխության բուժակարգը 15 տարեկանում։ Սակայն հորմոնների երկարատեւ ընդունումը բացասաբար էր ազդել Ռիայի տրամադրության վրա, որը որոշել է հրաժարվել վիրահատական սեռափոխությունից։ 18 տարեկանից նա սկսել է ապրել սովորական նույնասեռական տղայի նման։ Սակայն հիմա՝ 23 տարեկանում Ռիան նորից է մտադիր սեռափոխվել՝ այս անգամ նա կին է ուզում դառնալ եւ վստահ է իր որոշումը վերջնական է։

«Ես միշտ էլ գիտեի, որ հոգուս խորքում կին եմ, այդ ուրիշները վստահ չէին դրանում,- ասում է տրանսգենդերը լրագրողներին,- 12 տարեկանից ես շպարվում էի ու բարձրակրունկ կոշիկներ հագնում, դրա համար էլ ոչ մեկ այդ կապակցությամբ կասկածներ չուներ»։

Ռիան սկսել է հորմոնների բլոկատորներ ընդունել, որպեսզի կագնեցնի պուբերտատային ժամանակաշրջանը։ Հետո նրան պետք է ներարկեն կանացի հորմոններ՝ կրծքի ձեւավորման ու մարմնի վրա մազերի աճը դադարեցնելու համար, բայց նա այդպես էլ սեռափոխության լիարժեք վիրահատության չի ենթարկվել ։ Նորից սեռը փոխելու նրա որոշումը շատ փորձագետների ստիպել է մտածել, որ դեռահասներին պետք չէ թույլատրել նման որոշումներն ինքնուրույն կայացնել ։ Բայց Ռիան պնդում է, որ ինքը կանգ է առել հասարակության կողմից հոգեբանական ճնշման պատճառով։

Հիմա նա միանգամայն վստահ է, որ կին դառնալով՝ կերջանկանա, նա արդեն 5000 ֆունտ է վճարել կրծքի պլաստիկ վիրահատության համար։ Ռիան ափսոսում է, որ նկարահանվել է փաստագրական ֆիլմում, որը պատմում էր որպես տրանսվեստիտ մարմնավաճառ նրա աշխատանքի մասին։ Հենց դրանից հետո էր նա որոշել ապրել որպես տղամարդ, իսկ հիմա սկսել իրեն նորից կին զգալ։
