Այս ժամանակահատվածում ողջ տարածաշրջանում կատարված խոշորագույն միջոցառումը Իրանի նախագահ հասան Ռոհանիի երդմնակալության արարողությունն էր, որին ՀՀ նախագահը մասնակցեց, իսկ Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Ալիեւը բացակայում էր: Ստեղծվել է մի իրավիճակ, որ Ալիեւը տրվել է քամուն, բայց նրան գերտերությունները բաց չեն թողնի: Այս մասին այսօր լրագրողների հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ ասաց փորձագետ Սերգեյ Շաքարյանցը:
 
Կարեւորելով ՀՀ նախագահի թեհրանյան կատարած այցը՝ քաղաքագետը առանձնացրեց մի քանի դրույթներ, որոնք շատ կարեւոր են երկու երկրների համար: «Բանակցությունների ընթացքում խոսվել է էներգետիկ եւ տրանսպորտային համագործակցության մասին, ինչը շատ կարեւոր քայլ է: Տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության եւ Արցախի հարցի քննարկումը նույնպես մեզ համար շատ կարեւոր է: Իսկ Իրանի հայտարարություններն առաջին հերթին ուղղված են ԱՄՆ-ին, Իսրայելին եւ Թուրքիային: Ռոհանին շեշտել է, որ ոչ մի այլ պետության զինյալ կամ ռազմական ներկայություն Արցախի հարցում գործ չի ունենալու, որովհետեւ Իրանի համար Հայաստանն ավելի կարեւոր է, քան Ադրբեջանը»:
 
Հարցին՝ քանի որ իրանական սահմանները մշտապես հատում են ահաբեկչական խմբավորումները՝ չկա՞ վտանգ, որ Իրանի հետ մերձեցմամբ հայկական սահմանները կդառնան խոցելի հենց նույն ահաբեկիչների համար, Սերգեյ Շաքարյանցը պատասխանեց. «Մեր սահմանները պարսկական կողմից վտանգված չեն, ընդհակառակը՝ վտանգված են հակամարտության գոտի համարվող Նախիջեւանի կողմից: Այստեղ նաեւ կարեւոր է այն, որ Իրանը հայտարարել է, որ երեք անգամ Նախիջեւանի տարածքից ահաբեկչական խմբեր են մտել իրենց երկիր: Ադրբեջանական կողմը Նախիջեւանի տարածքն այդ նպատակով է նաեւ օգտագործում, ուստի՝ Իրանը շուտով զորք կմտցնի Նախիջեւան»:
