 Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության ծառայության (ՍՊԾ) սեյսմոլոգիական ցանցի կողմից  օգոստոսի 17-23-ը աշխարհում գրանցված երկրաշարժերից 22-ի համար որոշվել են օջախի հիմնական պարամետրերը:

Ինչպես տեղեկանում ենք ՍՊԾ գործակալությունից, տեղի ունեցած սեյսմիկ իրադարձություններից 3-ը գտնվում են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության տարածքում.

  •  օգոստոսի 17-ին, ժամը 17:29-ին, M=1.5, Վանաձոր քաղաքից 12 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք,
  •  օգոստոսի 19-ին, ժամը 09:16-ին, M=1.3, Վեդի քաղաքից 21 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք,
  •  օգոստոսի 20-ին, ժամը 10:18-ին, M=2.8, Գավառ քաղաքից 17 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևելք:

Տարածաշրջանում 3 բալ և ավելի ուժգնությամբ գրանցվել է 9 երկրաշարժ: Օգոստոսի 17-ին Ադրբեջանում՝ Գերանբոյ քաղաքից 35 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք տեղի է ունեցել 5 բալ ուժգնությամբ (3.7 մագնիտուդ) երկրաշարժ: Նույն օրը երեք երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել Թուրքիայում, որից մեկը՝ 4 բալ ուժգնությամբ (3.1 մագնիտուդ) Վան քաղաքից 11 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք, մյուս երկուսն էլ՝ 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ (2.7 և 2.8 մագնիտուդ) Գևաշ քաղաքից 11 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք և Բուլանուխ քաղաքից 21 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք: 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ (2.7 մագնիտուդ) հաջորդ երկրաշարժը գրանցվել է օգոստոսի 18-ին՝ Իրանի Մարանդ քաղաքից 27 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք: Նույն էպիկենտրոնային գոտում օգոստոսի 19-ին գրանցվել է ևս երկու երկրաշարժ՝ 4 և 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ (3.0 և 2.4 մագնիտուդ): 3 բալ ուժգնությամբ (2.6 մագնիտուդ) երկու երկրաշարժ էլ գրանցվել է օգոստոսի 20-ին, մեկը՝ Իրանի Ահար քաղաքից 29 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևմուտք, մյուսն էլ՝ Ադրբեջանի Նավթալան քաղաքից 27 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք:

Տարածաշրջանից դուրս. 6.0 և ավելի մագնիտուդով գրանցվել է 2 երկրաշարժ: Օգոստոսի 18-ին 6.6 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Ատլանտյան օվկիանոսում՝ Համբարձման կղզու տարածքում: Հաջորդ օրը 6.4 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է գրանցվել Ֆիջիում՝ Լաբասա քաղաքից 254 կմ դեպի հարավ-արևելք: Երկրաշարժերի հետևանքով զոհեր և ավերածություններ չկան:

Օգոստոսի 22-ին 4.2 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ է տեղի ունեցել Իտալիայի արևմտյան ափին՝ Իսկյա կղզուց 9 կմ դեպի հյուսիս-արևմուտք: Երկրաշարժի հետևանքով մահացել է 2, վիրավորվել՝ 39-ը մարդ: Ստորգետնյա ցնցումները խուճապ են առաջացրել կղզու բնակիչների և զբոսաշրջիկների շրջանում և շատերը վախից դուրս են եկել փողոց: Կան զգալի ավերածություններ կղզու Կասամիկիոլա և Լակո-Ամենո քաղաքներում, որտեղից տարհանվել է 2600 բնակիչ:
