 Եվրամիությունը կոչ Է անում Իրաքյան Քրդստանի իշխանություններին՝ չանցկացնել տարածաշրջանի անկախության հանրաքվե եւ այն համարում Է հակարդյունավետ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, ասված Է ԵՄ-ի դիվանագիտության ղեկավար Ֆեդերիկա Մոգերինիի հայտարարության մեջ: «Եվրոպական միությունը հիշեցնում Է Իրաքի միասնությանը, ինքնիշխանությանը եւ տարածքային ամբողջականությանն իր մշտական աջակցության մասին: Միակողմանի այնպիսի գործողություններ, ինչպիսին առաջարկված հանրաքվեն Է, հակարդյունավետ են, դրանցից հարկ Է խուսափել»,-հայտարարել Է Մոգերինին: Նրա խոսքով՝ ԵՄ-ն ընդունում Է Քրդստանի եւ Բաղդադի իշխանությունների միջեւ չլուծված հարցերի առկայությունը եւ այն կարծիքին Է, որ դրանք պետք Է լուծվեն «խաղաղ ու կառուցողական երկխոսության ճանապարհով, որը կտաներ փոխադարձ համաձայնեցված լուծման՝ հիմնված Իրաքի Սահմանադրության դրույթների կատարման վրա»: «ԵՄ-ն ողջունում Է երկխոսությանն աջակցելու ՄԱԿ-ի նախաձեռնությունը եւ այդ գործընթացում իր աջակցությունն Է առաջարկում, եթե դա պահանջվի»,- ասված Է ԵՄ-ի դիվանագիտության ղեկավարի հայտարարության մեջ:

Ավելի վաղ քրդերի առաջնորդ Մասուդ Բարզանին հայտարարել Է, որ Իրաքյան Քրդստանում հանրաքվեի հետաձգման մասին որոշման ընդունումը միջազգային երաշխիքներ Է պահանջում, որ Բաղդադը պատրաստ Է բանակցություններ վարել տարածաշրջանի անկախության շուրջ, որպիսիք նա դեռեւս չի ստացել: «Միջազգային հանրակցության կողմից առաջարկված այլընտրական տարբերակները կոչ են անում մեզ երկխոսություն վարել նախքան հանրաքվեն, բայց դրանք չեն երաշխավորում անկախության շուրջ բանակցություններ սկսելու Բաղդադի պատաստակամությունը,- ասել Է Բարզանին:- Ուստի Քրդստանը ուրախ կլինի դրանց ձեռնամուխ լինել հանրաքվեից հետո»:

Ինքնավար Իրաքյան Քրդստանի իշխանությունները Իրաքից անջատվելու շուրջ հանրաքվեն նշանակել են սեպտեմբերի 25-ին՝ անտեսելով կենտրոնական իշխանությունների կարծիքը: Բաղդադում քվեարկությունը համարում են անօրինական, դրան դեմ Է քվեարկել խորհրդարանը: Անցած շաբաթ ԱՄՆ-ի, Ֆրանսիայի, Գերմանիայի եւ ՄԱԿ-ի ներկայացուցիչները Իրաքյան Քրդստանի ղեկավար Մասուդ Բարզանիի հետ կայացած հանդիպմանը հանդես են եկել այլընտրական առաջարկությամբ՝ հորդորելով հետաձգել անկախության հանրաքվեն: Քրդական հանրաքվեն քննադատության Է ենթարկվել տարածաշրջանի բազմաթիվ երկրների կողմից, ներառյալ Իրաքը, Իրանը եւ Թուրքիան: Հանրաքվեի անցակցմանը դեմ Է արտահայտվել նաեւ Արաբական պետությունների լիգան, հաղորդել Է ՌԻԱ Նովոստին:
