ՆԱՏՕ-ն ջանում Է ավելի կառուցողական հարաբերություններ հաստատել Ռուսաստանի հետ: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտարարել Է Հյուսիսատլանտյան դաշինքի գլխավոր քարտուղար Ենս Ստոլտենբերգը հոկտեմբերի 6-ին hotnews.ro ռումինական կայքին տված հարցազրույցում՝ հոկտեմբերին 9-ին այդ երկիր այցից առաջ, որտեղ նա մասնակցելու Է ՆԱՏՕ-ի Խորհրդարանական վեհաժողովի լիագումար նիստին:

«Մենք տեսել ենք երկար տարիներ ի վեր զարգացվող գործողությունների մոդելը, ըստ որի Ռուսաստանն զգալի միջոցներ Է ներդնում պաշտպանության բնագավառում, արդիականացնում Է իր զինված ուժերը եւ ուժ կիրառում հարեւանի՝ Ուկրաինայի դեմ»,-ասել Է նա:

«Միեւնույն ժամանակ Ռուսաստանը մեր հարեւանն Է ու կմնա,-ասել Է Ստոլտենբերգը:- ՆԱՏՕ-ն չի ցանկանում նոր սառը պատերազմ, սպառազինությունների նոր մրցավազք: Ուստի մենք ջանում են ավելի կառուցողական հարաբերություններ հաստատել Ռուսաստանի հետ՝ փորձելով թույլացնել լարվածությունը, եւ մեր պատասխանը, մեր ձեռնարկած միջոցները՝ պաշտպանողական են եւ համամասնական:

Եվ մենք բաց ենք պահել Ռուսաստանի հետ քաղաքական կապի ուղիները, որովհետեւ կարծում ենք, որ իրոք հարկավոր Է ջանալ լավ հարաբերություններ ունենալ Ռուսաստանի հետ, որոնք կնվազեցնեին լարվածությունը եւ կբարելավեին անվտանգության իրադրությունը Եվրոպայում», հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ գործակալությունը:
