Ստամբուլի Աթաթուրքի անվան միջազգային օդանավակայանում հոկտեմբերի 18-ի լույս 19-ի գիշերը ձերբակալվել է  «Անադոլու քուլթուր» (Անատոլական մշակույթ) հասարակական կազմակերպության ղեկավար մարմնի նախագահ, գործարար Օսման Կավալան:

Օսման Կավալան  ձերբակալվել է, երբ վերադառնում էր Գերմանական Գյոթեի անվան համալսարանի ներկայացուցիչների հետ Գազիանթեփում տեղի ունեցած հանդիպումից:

Թուրքական ԶԼՄ-ների փոխանցմամբ՝ ձերբակալությունից առաջ ոստիկանությունը գաղտնի հետաքննություն էր սկսել և  Կավալայի  ձերբակալության պատճառը դեռևս հայտնի չէ:

Օսման Կավալան ծնվել է 1957 թվականին Փարիզում: Ստամբուլի «Ռոբերտ» դպրոցն ավարտելուց հետո բարձրագույն կրթությունը ստացել Մանչեսթերի համալսարանի տնտեսագիտության ֆակուլտետում:

Նա եղել է տարբեր բիզնես եւ հասարակական կազմակերպությունների տնօրենների խորհրդի անդամ, ինչպիսիք են թուրք-լեհական գործարար խորհուրդը, թուրք-հունական գործարար խորհուրդը, Հարավարեւելյան Եվրոպայի ժողովրդավարության կենտրոնը և այլն:
